Themselves. Posability isn't bad, it's just I don't look at a figuarts and see mad super-posability. And I hate how some of them have that weird hip joint that drops down, and it seems to be all the ones I'd want to boot. Add to that the, I don't know what to call it, inner torso shoulder joint? While nifty for that extra bit of p'zaz, it makes the arms tough to pose naturally and they always look floating-off-the-body.

And that's not even talking about varying joint tolerances and actual inaccuracies. (although sometimes siad inaccuracies improve a design, like on Agito who I always felt looked a bit doofy in the show, but the Figuart doesn't) I'm not saying Figuarts are bad or even not-good, I'm not even saying I don't see the appeal, I was all ready to go get into the line hardcore before I actually got one, but all I hear is people saying how they get "sucked in" and I'm just like "ya I don't see how." But what about when it's not, like the aformentioned hip joint. Aside from looking terrible in anything besides a standing straight poses, it doesn't have a lot of movement, unless you want you rider's knee bending inward. I mean, I get sacrificing aethetics for functionality, but if you're sacrificing aethetics for no added functionality, I don't see the point. If W is the figure or series of figures you're basing your opinion on the line from though you should give it another shot. The early stuff is really not that great at all. There were quite a few QC issues and design flaws. Nowadays things are much better. Try a newer figure and see what you think of th eline then. It's come a LONG way in just 5 years.
I do want to get Den-O, but just because the Figuart is cheaper than the SIC. |

Get a Ryuki figure. Hands down best line of Figuarts. I defy you to name a single problem with the Ryuki line, other than the fact that Gai is so ridiculously hard to find.
![]() I'm preparing to move, so I'm in the process of packing up all of my toys for storage. All of my Toku toys are put away now. Except most of the Ryuki figures. I left them out to keep me company at work until I have a new display room. The poseability is so very life like, and absolutely no QC issues with any of them. And I have them all, except Gai and Ryuki Blank. The W figures aren't spectacular, but the rest that I have are. I've heard there are issues with OOO, but my Greeed are fine, except for a few loose joints (mainly on Uva) and Super TaToBa has no issues. The ones from before W are great, all the Kuuga figures have really great poseability and no big design issues, unless you really hate the hinged hip peg (which the Ryuki figures don't use). Get a Ryuki figure. Seriously, get KR Tiger, and see if you still aren't impressed with Figuarts. |
