Maybe it depends on where you are, but I was always told Summer started on June 1st. Same for the other months.

According to the Met Office: Meteorological summer will always begin on 1 June; ending on 31 August. The meteorological seasons consist of splitting the seasons into four periods made up of three months each.

So as soon as the weather turns "Goddamned hot", it is summer. Hence, for me, summer started in April.

But... as I say that, I remind myself that strict adherence to The Old Ways is part of what's been dragging Joe down since the JvC days. I'm willing to see where this goes at least.

Is summer the longest season for you?

There are three seasons around here as far as I'm concerned: Eternal Swampass, Goddamned Hot, and Almost Cold.
I wish I could move further north. My blood's too thick for about 70% of the US.

I got through last summer with no air conditioning. It's made me much more tolerable towards heat, it seems. After last summer, I actually feel somewhat chilly in 90 degrees Fahrenheit with a t-shirt on and long sweat pants. I'm really pleased with this, to be honest. I'd like to travel more eventually, and I know in other countries it can easily exceed 90 degrees on top of the humidity. Hopefully this will help me a bit.

Someone asked a while back to see some art of mine, but I never could figure out how to downsize images, so I guess here we go.
Was playing around earlier gathering different drawings of a character of mine over the years, and I guess it shows some of how I've gotten better (even if I'm still bad lol) ![]() Please don't come out super huge.

I love the progress you're showing! The newest one is a big improvement in line-weight, in proportions, and in shading. The body language is good, too, and it's something you've had a handle on from the start. My one suggestion would be to add a little more work to your faces. They're a little undefined, relative to the rest of the drawing. Some more time spent on that part could really elevate your work. Thanks so much for sharing! |
