Thank fucking Daizyujin. I hate that format because they force it when many times they could easily do it in one episode. It makes the shows drag unless you watch it an hour at a time.

Also, Kabuto did it just as much as Den-O.

Ever since the japanese are addicted to shows like A Sleeping Forest, TRICK, etc., many drama goes for two-episode story for most of the time. Problem introduction episode, and problem solving episode.
I really don't see they will completely abandon that formula in Gaim, especially with Tasaki on board.

I think it is more of a weather problem. I remember reading Hikasa and Tasaki's twit, talking about bad weather stopping them from filming what they wanted. They were filming on the west coast of Japan at the time while everybody was busy in watching Akibaranger.

I'm not buying into the hype just yet. And unless the show has oodles of character deaths, I doubt it will qualify as "dark".

Have we seen any monster designs as yet? What made Kuuga and Agito "Dark" was moreso the nature and visual cues of their villains. If the Riders are bright and cartoony, one should hope that the villains are totally grotesque in comparison.

As for this guy's writing cred as the dude who made Madoka and oher shows like Fate....It might be a case of him trying something new in his writing style. Having a big name franchise like Kamen Rider on his portfolio is sure to be impressive for any future endeavours he might want to seek out.

Well being "dark" doesn't really have to mean "killing somebody".
It could be "Doing good leads to a tragic end", or "Saving one person by sacrificing others".
There are so many ways to play the game.
I hope Buchi is going to bring the darkness in everybody's heart onto the screen.
I am sure kids will have one hell of a memorable ride of their life with Gaim.

People don't have to die for it to be dark, it could just be its themes. I mean, if the story really does revolve somewhat around Norse mythology due to Yggdrasil Corporation, Ragnarok could be one of the show's themes.

While I still maintain that if you want your Kamen Rider show to be "dark" in tone, you should go all the way back to the original, which featured Shocker kidnapping innocent people and either experimenting on them or torturing them to death.

That having been said, Gaimu seems like it might be a strange combination of something which on the surface is silly (fruit based powers) and something "dark." This might work out nicely; strange combinations often can strike a balance between the two sides and offer a unique take.

I don't think you understand what makes a show "Dark."
It's not character death. Having oodles of character deaths actually makes it cartoonish. It prevents the audience from getting attached to characters because we're losing one every 4 weeks.

What makes a series "Dark" is simply how it's written. How the characters act and react, motivations, goals, and histories.
Death does not equal dark. Death is just a crutch to make a show seem darker and more adult.

This information has me intrigued. I don't mind the 2-3 episode story arcs, but it does feel a bit done to death at the moment. Let's see what their definition of dark equates to.
