Only thing sad about this Dragonzord is that their Megazord effort is clearly not up to this level and will look worse in comparison. As such, he works better as a standalone mecha than as an add-on. I guess I can live with that.

This thing continues to look beautiful by itself and misshapen in all of its combinations.
I love the molded in details in the feet and thighs. I like the Zord Builder pegs. I don't like how long the tail will be in drill/spear/weapon mode. I don't like how far the feet will stick out when combined with anything due to where the Zord Builder pegs are. |

I still think it looks fantastic alone. Though, the tail might actually be too big (seriously.. it's huge! Which is kind of cool by itself but course will look ridiculous in any combined mode) and those hands are just really awkward and pudgy.
I also don't think we've really seen enough to judge its other modes yet. Just turning it into them without anything else attached doesn't show enough.

We've long since seen the images of it's other modes. Months ago even. They don't look right.
http://www.tokunation.com/showthread.php?t=65754 It's ridiculously out of scale and oddly proportioned. Because it looks actually very nicely trimmed down and not super fatty-fat no more. The legs aren't 'far apart." They're just apart period. The combined mode looks just as better proportioned as the 2010 Megazord. The only hang-up are the Dragonzord's feet, which of coourse existed on the original design, and the size of the drill which is a worthwhile tradeoff and hell, at least it looks imposing now. And of course the "shoulder bullshit" mode looks stupid, but it always has and always will. It's literally just the dragonzord draped over the Megazord. I feel like these complaints are very, very petty considering all the massive positives gained. The proportions, at worst, are a bit off. At best, they actually make it look like a humanoid robot who just has GIGANTIC knee pads and chest armour... you know, like the original design did because the transformation method makes it pretty unavoidable? Also, the cartoony hands? Optional. Leave 'em out if you want. That's such a non-issue it's hilarious. I think they look dumb, too. Good thought, but anytime the Dragonzord's hands moved I laughed, so I'll never put them on myself. |

-The legs are too far apart, permanently splayed out to a degree that makes them unappealing. The individual Dragonzord mode looks at best, like it's trying to take a dump.
-The drill is ridiculously oversized, it's laughable how big that thing is. And for what purpose? The single speculated zord builder port on it? Even then what use is it? How's something else being completely wrong a decent trade off for the rest of the figure being awkward as well? That thing should not be twice the size of the figure, that's not a trade off to me. -The proportions are atrocious. You need only look at the "Battle Mode" configuration for proof of that. The 2010 Megazord was designed with splayed legs in mind to give it a dynamic pose. The Dragonzord as an individual was as well. But once you fold it's legs up to be combined with the Triceratops and Tiger, you can see how strange this looks. Massive bulky thighs and knees on top of spindly legs. The original toy at least has legs that look like they're streamlined components, this doesn't. Not to mention the legs point outward and appear as though they're buckling under the weight of the Dragonzord. Of course they aren't but they appear to be. I recognize this toy was designed years after the Megazord so there will be issues. But they've made one item with seemingly completely different design asthetics from the other, they look mismatched when combined. -And I'm talking about both sets of hands. Neither of them looks particularly appealing. But yes the second set of "opened" hands will likely not be in use when I get the toy. I'll give it to you the shoulder pad mode is silly. It's always looked silly. This thing has an excellent paint job and the labels are of course more accurate than the original US Dragonzord. Now their just based off the real Dragon Caesar toy instead of the less accurate US stickers. So it looks very good in that regard. But it has pretty glaring issues that don't entirely allow me to be sold on it. For someone who's so critical of the Kamen Rider W figuart being one of the most inaccurate of the line and deserving of a renewal, I'm frankly shocked you'd give this thing such a pass and dismiss my criticisms "petty".

Just noticed that the pictures Bandai UK provided at Toy Fair of the Legacy Dragonzord showed gold chrome - this, what appears to be final retail version, has the gold chrome replaced with dark yellow plastic.
In fact, after brief research, all Bandai of America showings of Legacy Dragonzord have it shown with gold plastic. But Bandai UK's only showing (UK Toy Fair 2014) showed it with gold chrome. Whaaaaat?
