The only Gundam vibe I get from the Megazord is that 2nd design, which looks a bit like Epyon.

Ok... and you didn't find it odd that an article posted just over a year ago would still contain supposed concept art? Stuff like that doesn't stay up for long.

As for the Megazord artwork in-particular, I'm not sure if this is true, but I remember reading that those pieces were some of the original artwork for the Sentai series. Again, not sure if that's true, but that's how they were first presented to me.

Its concept art from the original MMPR when they planned to keep the original set of Zords for the second season instead of changing to the thunder zords.
