I see what you mean, he is a lot like Omegamon. I would rather not get either of those two next either. There are so many Digimon I would rather from the first four series before anything after that. I know Bandai doesn't think that way, and like you.. I'd be happy just to see the line continue.

The 3 characters I'd most want would be either Stingmon, Magnamon, or Dynasmon (I don't know why, but I've always loved Dynasmon's design. Being a Royal Knight also helps). Also, if I recall correctly, Mugendramon/Machinedramon was one of the most requested Digimon in Japan, so I wouldn't mind getting one of those, too.

I agree, maybe current releases would do better, but I also think Bandai's choices have a been mixed. I think they've handled the Megaman and Pokemon lines very well so far, which a balanced line up, so maybe I just don't understand what Digimon are popular.
Some Digimon from Adventure season 2 would be great, if I had to choose Magnamon and Stingmon would be my choices. Mugendramon/Machinedramon would be pretty cool too. I'd love to see some of the villain Digimon get made, there were so many cool ones. |

Well, Pokemon is a lot easier, helped that their first release was the popular Mewtwo, where Digimon had the anti-hero Beelzemon in his less popular form for the first release.
Additionally, with the first 3 starters' final forms, they had a pretty solid release schedule. Digimon is all over the place, getting released at random.

Yeah, it just seems like Digimon could have been released in a similar manner. With some Adventure stuff and Rookies instead of just random releases. I like what they have released so far personally, I love Adventure and Tamers, but it doesn't seem very coherent or particularly well thought out. Maybe it's just me, I don't know what the Japanese market really thinks about anything. lol.
Beelzemon is one of my favorite Digimon, so I'm happy he got released, it just seems odd to release him when they did, and in the form they did. It doesn't seem like the "bang" you'd need to start a new line out with. I think as far as America is concerned the Mega level Adventure Digimon are great releases. WarGreymon, MetalGarurumon, then Omegamon would have been a killer first three, especially since most of us are familiar with the Digimon movie (let's just not focus on the Americanized version! lol). I'm not sure if Bandai Japan saw America as a prime target for Digimon in the way they did with Dragon Ball or Megaman though? If they did originally, they don't seem to anymore. |

I think they're banking on the Japanese audience with Digimon, since the only exclusive figure is currently MetalGarurumon, which shows that they were pretty confident in the line.
Another big problem is that the Royal Knights are pulling double duty, being marketed as both a Knight and as their respective series (Despite the Omegamon from Adventure and Dukemon from Tamers being different characters than the actual Knights), so if they do wish to release the Knights, we'd be dipping into 02 (Magnamon) and Frontier (Dynasmon and Crusadermon), before diving into Savers (Who featured a large chunk of them), further breaking up release of the seasons.

Yeah it really does seem that way at this point. I get the feeling that Bluefin won't be picking up more Digimon releases in the future, but I hope that's not the case. I like to think that Bandai finally releasing MetalGarurumon is a good sign. Maybe Agumon isn't too far behind.
Yeah, it really is an odd series of releases. Has Fusion started airing here in America yet? I don't see Fusion doing well here in America really helping the D-Arts line since the target audience are probably different, but one can hope. I'm really interested in seeing what Bandai shows at the next toy show, I just think Digimon should be doing much better sales wise than they are and Bandai should be able to turn things around. |

I'm actually hesitant for Agumon. He just doesn't fit that well, skewing scale like crazy (Agumon is about 3/4 Tai's height. Omegamon is large enough for Tai to sit on his shoulder with no problem).
Fusion isn't in the States yet, though (But, I think the Fusion toy line is selling like mad, considering it's the first series to get multiple seasons), but I don't think Fusion will do any favors when it comes to importing D-Arts. It's curious that, for all the popularity from the adult audience Digimon garners, it's not selling as well as Bandai anticipated.

Yeah, the scale is weird, but it's still pretty cool to get them as figures. Do you have Beelzemon by chance? He's kind of small compared to the other Figuarts and D-Arts figures I have, so I assume he's size that way to fit in scale with the other D-Arts Digimon better but I don't have WarGreymon & Omegamon to tell. Maybe if they do Pikachu & Pokemon Trainer and that sells well, Agumon and Tai would have a better chance. Hm.
I didn't think it was yet, I know it supposed to be this year, probably the fall. Yeah, I don't think it will help sell the D-Arts line, but I'd like to think having a Digimon show on air would raise interest overall in Digimon an that could help. Yeah, that's exactly what has me boggled to. It seems pretty popular still here with adult anime fans. I think it has to be down to availability and character choice. I hope that Bandai will give it another try here and release a figure that has a better chance of selling Releasing figures they show within 6-12 months is probably a good idea, instead of waiting two years or more, lol. |
