G3 gets upgraded and improved as time goes on.
One thing I, nor you, would have known watching the first ep of Agito is how slow it is. I'm talking snails pace. Barely anything worth anything happens for the longest time, and plot points take ages to develope. The villains motivation isn't even made clear until almost two thirds in. It tries to be a mystery, but the "let's just not explain or hint at anything for ten episodes" mystery. It sets some stuff up, then just sits on it without even reminding us which questions are being asked. Spoilers, It took until the last six or so episodes to reveal just the second most important plot element. Most of the show, realistically, is just Agito faffing about until he just randomly decides to fight a monster while the police stand around asking questions. Also, minor spoilers, but Agito as a person has got to be the most disconnected from rider stuff of any main rider I've watched. When he's not fighting he's literally doing nothing relevant, only having spidey sense at literally random times to go fight the monsters, then goes home and never even acknowledges what happened. It's like his in-suit and out-of-suit segments are cut from two different shows. Maybe I should just go with Kabuto instead.

Didn't Split hate Kabuto even more?
![]() Anyway, while it's nice to heed the opinions everyone has to present, only you can make the call on how you view a series. If you thought Agito was nice, why not continue until it reaches that same "Bore" point it did for Split?

I think the show's biggets problem is it's not enough plot to fill 49 episodes. Seriously, the story could fit into about 35 and be way the hell more streamlined, though that wouldn't help certain plot elements from being under-developed. Also, it's a rather... irritating series. The camera angles, the obnoxious filters, the two fucking pieces of music for the entire show, and just the editting and scene pacing is just kind of annoying. I try to refrane from calling too much stuff actually awful, but Agito is massively underwehlming. Even going in, ignoring the hype, it's just boring. Again, it's a poorly concieved mystery. It's like if you're playing clue and someone threw all the answer cards in the trash and you didn't find them for two days. That's not really a mystery. Quote:

Seriously, Agito is the most over-rated series I've ever watched. On every level it's unremarkable. The characters are flat and unimpressive, save a few. The fights are haphazzard, short and basic. The plot is amazingly pretentious. It's a bore fest. No kidding, there's literally at least a dozen episodes where nothing actually happens.

I, personally, hated it. I couldn't stand Tento Squeegy, or really anyone, to the point where even the cool suits couldn't keep me. But since you're in the market for action first, I'd say give it a shot. I'm trying to think what he'd like, though. I hated Kabuto becuse I was looking for something he isn't. He likes focus on well-paced and relevant action, which Agito wasn't very good at. I think he'd like it even less than me. Granted, these are just my recommendations. I'm not saying don't/do this or this. Kabuto may be better for that. What I will say is I have noticed in a lot of these Rider series, they are HORRIBLY put together. Like tacky suit designs aside, a lot of the cinematography is like someone stuck the camera on a bit of rope and swung it violently around. With extreme over editing so it looks like a shitty music video from the 90s.

Also yeah, you probably wouldn't like Agito then. I was seriously almost about to make a comparrison to a music video. ![]() |

Yeah, I've noticed that. I think it's just one of those things you have to accept. I don't think KR has, historically, had very impressive budgets for the kind of show it is.

However, I have liked the artistic nature of Wizard so far, largely because it seems pretty controlled and self contained. Rather than others, which seems to use styles just for the sake of it while also making no attempt to make the visuals coherent.

They basically shoot no action at all, but then splice it to pieces so it's moving so fast you think you're seeing action when you're not. Couple that with clunky choreography and terrible CGI and you have your American action show mix.

I watched Episode 9 of OOO, interesting about Eiji's history, and great to see more Combo's love the Yellow one.

Watched episode 2 of Kabuto, took a while to get going but man when it got going!
The change beetle cast off whatever Kabuto form is really cool and I love the freeze time gimmick. What I disliked was the Driver repeating everything said, it was stupid and his rider kick was pretty unspectacular.
