I'm not really a fan of goofy humour anyway, but the goofiness in Kyoryuger was worse for me because they crammed in juvenile gags whether it actually made any sense or worked in the context or not. And that to me is the worst way to do comedy.

I think Ovirappo is massively exaggerated. It was in one episode. Every other time it was used, it was used as a smoke screen.
Yeah, it was pretty juvenile and I could understand if it was a recurring gag, but it wasn't. |

But it wasn't just that one gag. You had the bendy sword, the bubblegum blow up, the tickle one the fall in love one. Etc Etc. And I stopped watching at like episode 12, I dread to think what other terrible attempts at humour come out of the woodwork over the series.

I'm not really sure what was so horrible about the blowing up one? Maybe its because I've played Donkey Kong 64 and Super Mario 64 DS to death, but that didn't come across as particularly juvenile. I thought using Nossan as a ball to battle the meteor volleyball attack was kinda funny...
The bendy sword and tickle were meh too, I agree, but they're also not really recurring gags, so I can forgive. |

I recall it being in about 3 episodes. And even when they use it as tear gas or a smoke screen later, it still has that damn sound effect... *shudder*

True, but for better or worse, that's pretty much how Kyroyuger is for the rest of the series. However, there at least isn't a repeat of how stupidly anti-climatic the disease villain who took over Ankydon's defeat was. Last edited by Starscream Gaga; 02-18-2014 at 08:33 PM.. |

Oh God yeah that disease Deboss. The way he appeared in a dramatic cliffhanger...only to be defeated in a gag the next episode. What a pile of shit.
