I don't even know what they're supposed to be. The Nezire monsters are simple as hell (High tech animals), but them? I have no idea what they were aiming for...

Well. Just happened to listen to Gekiranger's theme and now I think I'm definitely gonna have to watch that series now once I get home.

Yes, watch Gekiranger. It's one of the best Super Sentais and my all time favorite.

It's a good show, just be prepared to want to punch Gekired in the face. A lot.
