That's a good point. If Gundam came out in the US in the 80's then the show could have been popular but still pretty terrible at the same time. They would have water it down a lot. I guess it's better late then never.

I didn't count on it being a dirty cheater with the partsforming V-crest.
I have a hard time calling it bland when that's clearly the intent. "Oh look, what a sad, bland Gundam with it's one horn, no face and no colours, it's so unremark-OH MY GOD PINK EVERYWHERE NOW IT HAS GUNDAM FACE" Like the design is transformable, you can't really judge the one mode independant of the other since it's clear the purpose was to be unassuming and "surprise" you with it's destroy mode, IMOMOMOMO. Anyway, I built the HG Arios over the weekend and thought I'd share my thoughts on it. It's probably my favorite transforming HG I've built. There's pretty much zero partsforming, and it looks like a convincing aircraft once you're done. The build is unique too, with lots of unexpected uses of standard polycaps (shoulder PC in waist, ankle PC in shoulder, etc.). The articulation's good, and the gun's pretty neat, even though the gimmick is kinda odd. And it has a stand, just like every gunpla should. Oh, and it looks like a creamsicle. yum. The only downside is the stickers on the wings. I'd give them about a month before they start peeling, and that's generous. Bottom line: it's a great kit that I highly recommend. I've got my eye on the MG RX-78-5 now. It an older kit, but it looks like the forgotten child of the RX-78-2 and the Heavyarms. Thoughts?

Just finished building RG Destiny Gundam. It was a fun build overall.

I'm curious how it compares to the old MG.

You guys think that for the 10th anniversary of 00, Bandai is going to resissue the season 1 kits? I ask this because the prices of those kits on amazon are ridiculous but I'm not sure to wait it out.

I have no idea why you went full on "jerk" mode with your opinion. Unicorn pulls off being a 2 in one machine great, in Unicorn mode it's meant to look like a grunt suit and then of course a full on Gundam in Destroy mode. You call it bland but he's one of the best transformable MS out there.

That's a HG Size kit they had to make two different Unicorns Kiwami for Destroy and Unicorn mode like the original Unicorn HG Kits since neither Unicorn form or destroy mode transforms. So it doesn't cheat anywhere when the Transformable gimmick was never present in either HG kits.

Maybe make sure you're arguing with someone who actually disagrees with you first before getting all angsty. |

Reissues? Pfft. I wanna see full remakes of 'em with modern engineering. New Thrones that don't need hella painting, new Kyrios that doesn't partsform, new Dynames with GN Pistols... the list could go on forever.

Ah, that would explain it. I just assumed it was the MG when the guy posted it closed up in response to my comment about not Transforming.
Um, probably because I didn't? I was joking about it being a "cheater" and I was defending Unicorn mode. Uh dude, I never called it bland. At least not in a bad way. I was defending Unicorn mode, saying the idea of it going from a grunt-looking plain suit to something bombastic and cool was the point. You're preaching to the preacher. Maybe make sure you're arguing with someone who actually disagrees with you first before getting all angsty.
