Zangyack is a mixed bag. Sometimes you have goofballs like Jealoushitto or the Sneak Brothers, other times you have the Emperor's bodyguards or outside help like Kiaidou who are all business.

But you have to remember, Sentai is still first and foremost for kids. Yes, I do think the series in the more recent years have gone way too kid friendly (ToQ, Gosei, and Go-On being prime examples), but every Sentai series has had goofiness in them. Some series just balance it better than others.

Gokaiger 05.
This show seems to love DekaRanger almost as much as Shinkenger, was Deka as huge in Japan as SPD is here in the US? And how is Deka? I felt SPD was grossly overrated (although Sky is one of my all time favourite Rangers) but I'm kinda intrigued by Deka after this episode, even with that dreadful suit for Doggie, if nothing else for more reasons to stare at Nossan's gorgeous sister. Err... Given, once again, that SPD was very different to DekaRanger in some crucial areas, it would have been really great to see Super Megaforce tackle this. Given the allusions to Time Force and In Space in SPD, it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to have the SPD sent back to the past or to have the Megaforce Rangers sent to the future. . |

Just caught Abaranger 1 & 2 thanks to Imagination Station!
I have to say this was a pretty impressive opening gambit for a sentai. I expected to like it, but I really liked it. The idea of the mecha being evil at first, of Asuka losing his powers before he even meets the others, of Emmy & Ryunosuke trying to use the powers first ![]() This is a really fun and enjoyable show. I loved seeing the team together in Abaranger Vs Dekaranger anyway, it's one of my favorite VS movies. And I can already tel I'm really going to like the show. Keep up the good work guys!

Yup
![]() Imagination Station is the group that did the initial sub for ToQger before Overtime took the project on. Now their doing Aba, and they've already released 1-4. According to Victorious Imagination who posts here they've already gotten up to episode 35 done and are going to release them roughly weekly to avoid the curse of the last few groups who couldn't finish the show.

And that is coming from the guy whose favourite sentai is Goseiger. Quote:
He also wrote Kuuga*, Akibaranger, and co-wrote Daimajin Kanon. He's kind of my favorite tokusatsu writer ever. Honestly, though, he deserves that title for episode 37 of Dekaranger alone. Everything else is just gravy.
*Before you freak out, Locke, Arakawa Sentai is very, very different from Arakawa Rider. ![]() I tried to get into that Daimajin show, but the lacklustre action killed it for me.
