Watched the first eleven episodes of Samurai Flamenco and man I think I kinda fell in love with that show
![]() Its not my favorite show or anything but as a tokufan I cant help myself but love everything this thing is doing. In a way it kinda reminds me of a japanese version of Kick-Ass but alot less cynical. There were so many big WTF moments in this show so far and I cant wait to see where this show will take me next. |

Hope you continue to enjoy that wild ride. Funnily enough most of those jokes were present in the novel. ![]() My favorite being: "My voice actress is very talented" |

Psalms of the Planets Eureka Seven: Watch this thing.
Renton Thurston is a 14 yeard old boy (who's really into flying surfboards), living an uneventful life with his grandfather, in another uneventful day a giant mech (which totally has a flying surfboard) falls on their garage, however what intrigues him the most is the young pilot, Eureka, it seems that the boy has found his first love and this journey shall lead him not only into joining his idols Gekko State (a bunch of people in flying surfboards) but also the truth behind the world. I realy dig the flying surfboards kay? Eureka Seven might tell the story of Gekko State and it's struggle in a world full of conflict, but at the core of everything it is a show about the many ways love is experienced, the bond between parents and childs, the sweet melody of your first couple, the bittersweet feeling of loss, and the torment of unrequited feelings. All the characters represent one or multiple sides of love, and they are defined by their mutual evolution, nobody is alone, and humans do not change by themselves, the show has an amazing grasp on it's cast, they are all memorable and well developed, always staying true to themselves. The nature of the mechs make for a very unqiue visual identity, their organical appearance and their method of flight (aka the flying surfboards) make for unique fighting scenes, the music is majestic, with one of the most memorable soundtracks I've heard. And the story moves at a great pace, once it hits the 12 or so mark (the "Ciudades del Cielo" arc) it never lets go and it is an incredibly gripping tale. Eureka Seven is an amazing experience, it's not flawless, and some points int he last episodes will leave you more confused than you would be used to, but as whole it is an amazing package and an amazing ride. Also... Flying surboards are so rad. |
