Good introductory episode for Beast. Really like his character, definitely makes up for Haruto being a bit..bland as far as personality goes (even though I do dig Haruto as a character). Beast is also a pretty damn cool rider, I dig his design, even if his belt isn't so great.

Really hate the sound made when his belt absorbs mana though, it is a bit too cartoony for my taste.

Secondary Riders are really hit or miss with me. Beast is on the list of ones i like already. He has enough charm and personality.

Finally watched this one...

Was eating during it and wanted to throw up when he put the mayo on the poor, unsuspecting doughnuts...

But everything else about Beast in his introduction episode I loved.

Until the end where we got the now-cliche secondary Rider making it clear he's at odds with the main Rider at the start. *siiiigh*

I'm going to defend Beast here. Partially because his attitude makes it clear he's not against Haruto because he's dark and brooding with his own agenda, and mostly because his reason is a completely valid one. You have to consider his perspective, where it's survive for X amount of months until he and Haruto dwindle the Phantom population to minuscule numbers or survive indefinitely, with his promised stake in Phantoms to eat.

This isn't Meteor being a prick for no reason, Zeronos being an ass, or Accel being needlessly being distant. This is just self preservation.

Keep in mind now, this was initial reactions to him, prior to the most recent episode actually giving some reasoning behind his actions.
