I knew it! We saw Hasse laid out on the ground, belt smoking with Zangetsu over him in the preview for this week! Very cool stuff.

The description in the scan says they are Yggdrasil lackeys. It also states that unlike the protagonists who use Sengoku Drivers, their belts are silver.

As for the Kurokage is a ninja or not debate, the correct answer is that he's based off the ashigaru, foot soldiers for samurai, warlords, etc. If he was a ninja he would not be carrying a polearm for starters.

We also see Jonouchi in the same pose. There's no reason to kill them right now, so they're probably just defeated and captured.

I know Gen Urobuchi is writing this, but isn't everyone jumping the gun a little bit on these deaths? Every week it's "so and so is gonna die next week." It's getting old and so far it has been a fruitless endeavor.

Thanks for the correct name, Sunred. That's been bugging me. I knew he was based on a low level soldier, but just couldn't pinpoint the proper name. I look forward to these Zect Troops- I mean Riotroopers- I mean cannon fodder to join the battle.

Go back and watch the opening Rider War in episode 1. The Watermelon Arms are ALL piloted by Kurokages!
