Not to mention we have a completed set of the core DekaRangers.
Yes, CarRanger saved the series from cancellation, but that was only because of how poorly OhRanger did. Zyu-Kaku was a risk Toei did with Sentai because their head writer had just left the franchise with Fiveman and Jetman was made as a love letter to Gatchaman. As such, they wanted to do something entirely new and they were all successful shows. They revolutionized Sentai. OhRanger did extremely poorly to the point it was going to be canceled, so Toei once again took at risk and just told the writers to have fun with the final series, which was so successful it brought the franchise back on top. And funny enough, Turbo was the series that nearly canceled Power Rangers. |

I think you're being too generous. If Zyuranger revitalized it, it's kind of silly that only 3 years later it had to be saved from cancellation with Carranger.
Zyuranger's continued popularity does have a lot to give towards Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - while Zyuranger did fine by itself in Japan, the Power Rangers adaption became a hit for the rest of the entire world. That fact alone leads me to personally believe that the Power Rangers 20th Anniversary played a huge role in the entire Zyuranger team being created (as opposed to just Red and Green, like what happened with Dairanger in Akibaranger with just Red and White). Plus - there's a ton of Super Sentai after Zyuranger that have been more successful and more popular in Japan. And yet, here we sit with every other single team unfinished except Zyuranger/Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I don't think that's purely a matter of chance.

All I know is, I have yet to have my Green Samurai Ranger. I need him. Maybe holding him up is the different versions of him.

But Zyuranger nostalgia helped create those figures, the Akibranger marketing machine helped create those figures, and yes Western demand greatly helped in creating the Zyuranger figures. But I'm sorry, that team along with the Dekas, Shinkens, & Gokais would have been finished with or without Western input. Each one of those shows was massive in Japan. To say otherwise ignores the demands of the native market entirely. Western demand undoubtedly gets those numbers higher, the 6 Zyurangers were a shoe in for Japan, even as Web exclusives. The same won't likley be said for a show such as Dairanger or Jetman anytime soon given the less spectacular demand in Japan.

The MMPR Japanese dub was a direct to video thing back in the mid 90's. I don't think it has a DVD release in Japan. I doubt most Super Sentai fans in Japan remembers it.

I don't know how I feel about the sculpt. The clothing folds are really good but some of the bulges are strange. The knees look a little too harsh and angular, and I don't know if I'm a fan of the waist area in general. I didn't think this would be something I'd complain about, but his butt almost looks too sculpted.
Like always, I'll chalk it up to picture angles. |

That is actually not accurate. DaiRanger is considered to be one of the best Sentai series in Japan of all time. That is why it was knocked out of existence in Akiba 2.
