Oh, judging by "Rekka Zen-Battou", I believe Wonder Almighty is like Dragonic, Primitive, Daisenki etc where it silences the sword and does all the noises itself -- so in other words it would make the exact same sounds with the Haouken as it does with the Rekka. Even saying 'Rekka Zen-Battou'

"I think the real conclusion was the stories we made along the way!" -Touma, probably
This was a fantastic finale! What can I say, Saber's theme carried through, it sold the storybook theme, and brought us to a beautiful ending. Sure, in some cases it's a little cliché, but I also got a bit of Gaim influence with this one. I was really happy that Primitive Dragon got to appear again, and even more so, when the trio used pretty much all of the Wonder Ride Books to fight Storius, in a spectacular fight might I add. I for one, have no objection with Wonder Almighty not having any form associated with it, but in fact, love that it's just Brave Dragon, with some new sound effects. I know it stood out like pterosaur in a chicken coop, but I love how there's a Humagear present during Mei's speech. But before that, there was that really heartwarming scene with everyone talking about their favorite stories after the world got destroyed, which was really nice, and as said before, really brought the theme home. And Almighty playing twice this episode, the Touma in Wonderworld scene, and everyone (even the dead people and victims!) got to make an appearance, were great additions. I'll probably do a follow-up/summary of Saber as a whole, but for now, this was a great finale to what started out as a runaround spectacle. Next Week: I can only see Vice doing that one Beauty and the Beast meme with Gaston holding Belle's book... |

I forgot to mention this, but I really enjoyed how Saber's swordsman motif meant that there were more swordfights than usual instead of the usual punch and gun fights.

I've literally never won a single prize or a contest before in my life, so I was extra shocked that I was chosen too ![]() Yeah, toei did this thing where they asked for fans to submit footage of themselves talking about a book or story that means a lot to them, and that's what they used for the montage of people in this episode And mine was one of the ones selected! ^^ It was so cool to see myself in the show! It's also just extra surreal to think that my face showed up on thousands of tv screens across Japan, and that people will be buying a blu ray of episodes with my face somewhere in them! Ive probabaly never had my face seen by so many people at once as when that episode aired! The scope of all that is so hard for me to really picture, It feels very strange but very cool too! It still has me in a good mood days later too lol |

Just out of curiosity - unless you don't want to say ofc - which book/story was that for you?

It's a sort of odd book, it's a non-fiction book about a specific year of a birding (or bird watching) competition that happens every year It has a good deal to say about following your dreams and passions, as well as how people from different walks of life may have an easier or harder time following their dreams than others (an example from the book being how someone wealthy could take a year off work from their huge company they founded without much issue, while a lower level employee at a power plant needed to give up a lot and save for years to even have a chance at their dream) It was the first book I ever read where I wanted to reread it the moment I finished it lol I know the premise may sound a little uninteresting but I'd recommend it, it's very well written and the story is very compelling It also got adapted into a pretty mediocre movie too, I'd recommend that less lol There are books that I probabaly think are funnier, or more exciting, but this is definitely the book that meant the most to me when I was younger, so it felt like the clear choice choice me (Now that I think about it though, does non-fictiom even really count as a story like they wanted? I didn't even consider that lol I guess I'd say it still just counts since it's in book format and because the author is who elevates it to being a real story and not just a list of events) My audio is pretty muffled and overshadowed in the episode but if you listen with headphones you might be able to make out the title of the book if you're listening for it lol Last edited by TheJaz; 08-24-2021 at 10:18 AM.. |

Definitely sounds like something that would have had a big impact on you growing up... I imagine it might've done the same for me

For all it's earlier faults, Saber really pulled through in the end and I felt it was worth watching the show compared to Zero One. This in a sense was reverse Zero One, where in Zero One, I thought it's 1st quarter episodes where it's strongest, then sadly the quality dropped, while Saber was like in the same vein as Drive, where it's 1st quarter was pretty weak, but then the rest of the show improved a lot.
It had really stand out moments (Primitive Dragon's backstory, the Rintaro/Neko Megid story on how he feels left behind, Kento's future vision crusade, Ren and Desast and how it concluded, that pre-Final Battle montage) so I feel it stands out more. I'm glad I stuck with Saber, and look forward to Revice (yes, even though Saber has 1 episode left) |
