It's a DAMN nice figuart as well. Zolda is absolutely perfect and right now he's cheap, fetching about 3500 yen. And he's around for a good long while. Like Midogreen says there's about 5 riders that matter through out the whole series. Ryuki, Knight, Zolda, Ohja, and Odin. The only other one I would say is truly significant is Raia.

Blade 7
So the sunglasses dude is familiar with Hajime....or he at least knows he's an Undead. He seems fairly powerful too. Haha, I assumed Hajime was sort of an ally to the others and was just being aloof, but he really could give less of a shit about the other Riders so far. Mess with his adoptive family, though...Also, since he keeps being referred to as Chalice by Sunglasses, I suppose that's his Rider name. I've got no clue who this mystery organization is now...I originally assumed they were all Undead masquerading as humans like Sunglasses seems to be. But they've got a captive undead and Kenzaki as well. Or...maybe they're Undead, but the main villain Undead. Understandably Kenzaki was pissed off after being kidnapped, forced to fight in an arena, and seeing Hajime just nonchalantly watch it all from a booth...but why did Hajime rage out and fight him? Hmm... And Tachibana to the rescue! ...Or not. Gotta vanquish that fear, Tachibana! Edit: Also another battle in a new area! This time, a hidden lab! |

Ah so the Greed never do anything, they're just going to be sat around all the time like they have in these first seven episodes?
Anyway Fourze, episode 12 was another great episode. Seeing Shun in action is always fun, especially when he does his signature salute (with sound effect) in the Dizer, I never thought I could be so enamoured with something that looks like it belongs in transmorphers. I guess that it does give characters something to do, I like that all characters so far feel like they have a purpose, even if it isn't specifically defined and isn't shouted at us the whole time. Kengo really annoyed me this episode but that was clearly on purpose and they fixed that with a touching scene at the end.

Episode 13 of Fourze was another great episode by the way. It was nice to see the aftermath of one of the of the week stories and know that all the monster goings on around the school is having cause and effect and consequence, sure it is played mostly for gags but it still makes things actually feel like they matter. Plus the addiction to the Switch is a slightly darker turn than most of the stuff in the series so far. I also liked that they've built a pretty decent mystery around Scorpio's true identity, much better than anything Wizard tries. Just a shame the sweet combo of Fire, Gatling and Launcher wasn't allowed to be played for all its glory but then again 'Dustards', I laughed so hard. My only real disappointment is since it was Shun's fault that he chose to use the Switch, the episode seemed to gloss over that like it didn't want to admit what a massive asshat Shun was just a few episodes ago with any references played more for gags than anything else, making Shun look like an even bigger asshole who is completely insincere. What I like about both OOO and Fourze is the enemies don't just stand there and wait for them to use their powers, they have to move around and dodge and create windows to use their powers.

Blade 8
Chief to the rescue! And with the exposition about the Undead. So...if I understand the chief's exposition and Koutaro's goofy Planet of the Apes reference correctly...A long time ago, there were Undead based on every species who fought to determine who ruled the Earth. Humans won, so they ruled while the others were sealed into cards? But because they were all still living in the cards for like a millennia, Board wanted to see if they could learn the secrets of immortality and studied them, but fucked up and accidentally freed them. So they made Riders to hunt them down and seal them again. Okay...weird, but pretty cool premise. I sort of like how they tool that long to explain it. Also glad the the whole main group knows Tachibana's problem now and is trying to help him. That bomb scene had really cheap effects, but I lile any scene thar has people teying to sace someone by throwing a bomb out of the window and into the air. And so the dude with the Shades and his organization are Undead. Just the higher level ones. So I suppose this means Hajime's no standard Undead. And now Kenzaki knows it as well. Which probably means he'll hate Hajime more. Hibiki 7 I was going to watch Blade all the way through before going back to Hibiki, but I decided to randomly check this one out. Glad I did. Asumu passed his exam. I was actually unsure whether he would or not so it's cool that he did. So cool thatbhe went to tell Hibiki....and got lost. Oni training looks pretty cool. As a percussionist , I appreciate that Hibiki's training requires him to bash a giant drum. Speaking of instruments, I noticed since they focused on Ibuki fighting the momsters on this episode, they changed the opening to reflect his weapon so they had trumpet as the main instrument and not drums. I think Ive mentioned how much I like how Hibiki's fighting style connsosts of him destroying the monstera with soundwaves from his drum, bit Ibuki"'s is pretty cool to, 'cause the motherfucker has a TRUMPET-MACHINEGUN! |

The dual-purpose weapons in Hibiki are awesome, as are the suits. They actually look organic and convincing and even though it's not like any Kamen Rider show, it may have my favourite designs.

It helps that Hibiki wasn't a Kamen Rider series until a decision made late in development, so they got to have a different kind of style and tone not normally seen in KR.

The only bit of Hibiki I've really watched, outside of the Decade episodes, is the 7 Oni movie. That I recommend.
