I think it would be better to make the suit THEN make the weapons to share the same theme as the suit.
it makes more sense.

Since we're talking forms here, I'll reintroduce my idea.
I'm partial to the concept of his forms being types of dinosaurs rather than a specific dino for each one. That way it both opens up more opportunities to include (and not exclude) any dinosaur from his power-up roster. AND it will keep his amount of true forms to a minimum, making it easier on whoever illustrates this. FORMS: Carnivore, Herbivore, Omnivore, Aquavore, etc... SYSTEM: Let's just use those first four as an example. I know they're AMBER stones, and therefore a orange-y color, but hear me out. You've got different colored stones for each form type. But there's multiple dinosaurs that fall in to those colors. I'm just gonna think up random colors for now: ORANGE: Tyranno, Raptor, etc.. GREEN: Stego, Tricera, etc... PURPLE: Oviraptor, Troodon, etc... BLUE: Mosasaur, Plesiosaur, etc... Any orange stone activates the Carnivore form base, but depending on the specific Dinosaur adds a unique weapon, armor, or ability as well as a unique finisher for that amber stone. Same goes for the others. Any green transforms the base into Herbivore, purple into Omnivore, blue into Aquavore (marine reptiles.) Of course there would be a final form, too. I just think ONE dinosaur for each of his forms is kind of boring. Bottom line, the reason we need to decide this stuff BEFORE we start designing the suit is so that we can incorporate whatever the gimmick and/or form change might be into the design. |

if you ask me, we could think of a power and an armament, then make the suit, and then make the weaponry and armaments themselves so they don't impede the suit design.
they aren't really separate things because they all have to blend together or risk looking out of place. plus, we've already got the form gimmick haven't we? are you saying it's not gonna be the amber stones?

Nono. They're still amber stones. But what kind of collectible would be all one color? That seems silly, monotonous, and very... Un-collectible. I'm just sort of pushing the definition to accommodate more color into the idea.
All I'm suggesting is that the concept behind each form in relation to the gimmick collectible needs to be addressed before designing the suit. Some people might suggest his main form be based on a Raptor, Tyrannosaurus, or any other single dinosaur. I'm suggesting it not be based on a single dinosaur, but vague enough to allow many. Other people might have different ideas, too. We can't very well design the suit before knowing what each form (or at the very least his base form) will be based on. EVERYBODY CALM DOWN!!!
There is a lot of confusion and ideas being thrown around all over. We have to do this in an organized fashion. Here is my schedule for everything: 1. Suit Design 2. Forms 3. Weapons/Arsenal 4. Rider Machine 5. Artwork And THEN the we will move on to the secondary rider. The process will repeat for the secondary rider. Until we are finished with Paleo there will be no talk of a sedondary rider. Helios has spoken Let's work on the suit design. I was thinking of making it look like a fossil rather than a live dinosaur because Sentai never does that with their dino rangers and I wanted to differentiate Paleo from them. Throw in your ideas for the suit design.

Also we need to think about his main fighting style first. Because that will affect the design the most

Fossil suit you say?
Perhaps we can borrow design cues? |

Instead of seeing a whole bunch of text and going "WHOA. HOLD THE PHONE. YOU'RE GOING TO FAR," actually read what I was saying there and understand my point.
I'm sorry Helios, but I cannot understand in any capacity why coming up with a CONCEPT for how the forms could work would come BEFORE suit design. At all. The base suit design IS a form, after all. Prime example: You think the designed the TaToBa suit before deciding how he would gain his power-ups and forms? At the very least, the two steps "suit design" and "forms" should overlap and coincide. Here's the thing. When coming up with ideas for any show, there's a lot of off the wall brainstorming and concept art. Obviously in the community format we're conducting this in, constant concept art before the final design isn't all that practical to produce. In the end, what I'm saying is... I understand you want to keep things linear. I understand you want to try and retain some kind of order. But in reality that's not how solid ideas and concepts are made. It's much more of a organic flowing progression where bits and pieces of the whole vision are formed simultaneously. |

Maybe his forms will be a fossil mix like OOO.
OOO Birds (red): Hawk-Peacock-Condor Felines (yellow): Lion-Tiger-Cheetah Insects (green): Stag Beetle-Mantis-Grasshopper Heavy (gray): Rhino-Gorilla-Elephant Aquatic (blue): Killer Whale-Eel-Octopus Reptiles (orange): Cobra-Turtle-Alligator Dinosaurs (purple): Ptera-Tricera-Tyranno Last edited by henshinzero; 08-04-2015 at 08:31 PM.. |
