I'm surised really that Kamen Rider, since it usually has custom transformation each episode rather than stock footage, keeps the transformations as consistent as it does. Especially series like Wizard and W where it's not a flash of light and then they're in the costume, but rather it forms around them gradually. (Especialy W where there's no real obscuring of the effect by any light or energy)
So Fourze 42 was a mixed bag. The whole Virgo clusterfuck seemed overly convoluted with no clear sense of purpose as to why, it was just like they knew they had a lot of stuff left to explain so they decided to cram in like five or six different plotthread wrapups into a single character which ended up undermining all the good reveals around the character or his beautiful death. That said the action was a lot of fun, as Virgo is a total badass and Sagittarius' entrance was fucking AWESOME. It helps that this is my sign and he is my favourite kind of warrior, an archer.

Yeah usually if you see anything you'll just see, like, their posture change slightly. Nothing that can't be explained by "they moved." But when it doesn't line up like your example it's really distracting. Ryuki actually just had that problem last episode I watched.

So OOO 40. I have to ask, what the fuck is this bird Yummy meant to be? With his weird one second middle eastern sounding themesong that violently loops whenever he appears? And his weird dance? Either way I think this episode thought it was deep and meaningful (I mean seriously those scenes on the beach were all ridiculous) but I dislike Ankh to such a degree that I really cared little for what took place, really it only made me detest Ankh even more. Also why does complete Ankh still have half his face missing? Luckily everyone else in this episode was awesome, especially Chiyoko and Satonaka. Also, dem legs.

Back to Fourze, episode 43 was a Yuuki centred episode and it tied into the main story, while being loads of fun. Yuuki's parents were amazing, the doppelgänger was creepy as hell and Gemini was awesome! Like some weird amalgam character of Gambit and Harlequin, haha. Although her supernova was shit. I'm just glad this was better than JKs shit second arc. It is also kinda funny because this basically told Ankh's entire character arc in one episode, it really just highlights how shit a character he is.
The only real annoying thing is now people are just skipping the Zodiart stage and going straight to Horoscope which kinda undermines the first half of the show and a majority of what we actually know of the villains plan. Plus it only further suggests just how much of a rush this show is in, despite its willingness to still waste time. Plus despite Ryusei getting shot and having a huge gaping hole in his shoulder right at the end of the last episode he's inexplicably fine this episode. Only to be fatally wounded at the end of this episode again.

Kiva 29 and 30 I finished. Loved Shizuka's hole Jealous Devil appearance and ruining then helping Wataru be with Mio. I'm loving the intrigue with her as Queen. Love Bishop and Rook too. Can't wait to see what happens next with Nago finally finding out Wataru is Kiva. I feel sorry for Kengo, I am intrigued what happens with him next. Man I am fucking loving Kiva as much as I love OOO.

He does?
EDIT: Oh, that's not Ankh complete. That's still Lost Ankh, and regular arm Ankh is still fighting him within as you'll see, meaning he doesn't have full power thus doesn't have a full form. (plus it adds visual difference between Lost Ankh and the real one complete that we see later) Also it's a vulture and no I don't know what that fucking musical cue means. Alright! Tachibana got his will to fight back. And Mutsuki fell back into belt withdrawal and went into Gollum mode again. The scene where he appeared to astral project his spirit out of his body looked a little weird, though I suppose it's supposed to represent him not being himself? Ah, looks like Hajime's fallen into the classic, 'dude perceived as a bad guy accidentally lashes out at his friends' scenario, meaning Kotaro's gonna be even more wary of him now. I honestly didn't expect Shiryu to kick the bucket at the end, but as soon as I saw Mutsuki glaring at him, I knew what was up. He had some cool final words, though. |

OOO 41: I guess they made Ankh so one note so you can actually tell him apart from Shingo, minus the fact Shingo wears different makeup. Once again I don't care about Ankh so no amount of plinky plonky pianos will make me care. That said Shingo managed to be more enjoyable in this one episode than Ankh has been over his entire run. That said Hina and Shingo are pretty...close...a bit weird. This show seems to have a thing for..."interesting" family relationships.
The action was a lot of fun though, both Lost Ankh vs Mighty Morphin Eiji and the MOTW as well. I just wish MME was a cooler form because conceptually it's awesome but in reality it's so ugly.

PuToTyra... well, I think I've already said all I need to say, but it really made me wish that the SICs were what the actual show costumes looked like. Imagine how badass it'd look fighting monsters if it looked like the SIC? I especially hate the white that the SIC makes a deep silver. And the explanation fans give for it is dumb.
I also like the Detective more than Ankh because he actually surprised me by wanting to help, having been aware the whole time he still felt like he needed to contribute, even though he was not obligated to. It nice that there exists these noble characters outside of the riders themselves. Plus he's just nice and polite. The only time Ankh did anything really cool was in the last episode. |
