Just a friendly reminder for people to get their facts straight about the relationship that Bluefin and BoJ have before spreading doom and gloom messages and theories. If you have an opinion regarding how Bluefin or Tamashii Nations operates, that's all good and all but do not spread your opinion regarding the lines as being the definite truth. While, yes, Bluefin is a distributor, the connection they have to Bandai of Japan is more than just "Hey we need more stock of this", especially as BoJ (Namely the Tamashii Nations division) begins to look toward other markets and territories. The S.H. Figuarts Dragonball Z line would NOT have continued past Gohan if it wasn't for the North American market. Toys are now being SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED for release here due to a much higher interest in this territories (such as Figuarts Trunks and Vile) while also receiving a very limited run back in Japan for those who are interested/completists.
This poll matters. A lot. This isn't Bluefin dicking around, driving up the expectations of people. This is seriously Tamashii Nations (through Bluefin) asking the North American markets SPECIFICALLY regarding what toys the fans want to see for the 20th Anniversary. And it's not just the poll that matters. They look at WHY certain options are winning, what people are saying about the polling options, what people think about stuff that's not even on the poll, the various comments and criticisms posted attached to their various posts. The polls aren't the only method they use to figure out what fans want, but it is a major contributing factor. http://www.tokunation.com/showthread.php?t=6823 The Shinkenger Figuarts situation was a lot different than this. Most of that was an overpriced reissue/overstock transfer on two S.H. Figuarts that the diehard collectors more than likely already had with an adaptation that many adult collectors and fans ignore. These won't be sold at a "Mass Scale" either. Those were retail, these like everything else Bluefin, would be sold ONLY through Comics Shops/Specialty Online Retailers/etc. |

I've said it before in other threads, but Power Rangers characters will not happen. I also think it's incredibly misleading that Bluefin continue to run these polls with no context. They have no connection to BoJ and do not have any control over what figures are made, they're a distributor, nothing more. This is no different from Toys R Us running a poll on their website, asking what Lego themes you want to see next. They can pass the results over to the creators and if there is enough demand, it might influence the decision, but there's no actual control or guarantee.
Even if say, Time Force, wins by thousands of votes, that doesn't mean Bandai will care, if they don't think they'll sell in Japan. I'm sure the Power Rangers anniversary does have something to do with the Zyuranger figures coming soon. But they're still Zyuranger Figuarts and there's literally zero possibility of Lord Zedd or the Titanium Ranger or anything along those lines. Does it really matter? They are the same costumes. If it's costumes you vote for, whatever. But if you're voting for character favorites, yeah it does matter. Because it has the potential to then change the results of the poll if people didn't vote for a Power Ranger they like but they voted for the Sentai characters.

Power Rangers a very small fanbase in the US? Considering it's been the top selling action figure brand since 1993, I highly I highly doubt the fanbase is small. Not in the least.

Nope, they are the same costumes, and the actual voting page is set up with the american names. Plus I'm not about to write down "Jungle Fever" in a post.....oh dang it look what you made me do!
