Teen Wolf S03E10.
On the one hand, this episode felt insanely cheap as it all took place in a single location, a location that was given an in story reason to have no extras at all, and to be largely made up of very small spaces. On the other hand, they clearly used all the money they had left over from the sets, in the action, and although still not toku levels of action, this was forty minutes of all out brawls, with minimum amounts of cut aways or use of slow motion to stand in for actual fighting. It was very enjoyable. Allison and her Dad fighting side by side is especially badass, although why he is using guns is as beyond me as why Allison chooses to only use those flash arrows and doesn't just use proper ones. The Alpha's may be too strong for them, but they can at least try. With the amount of power the Darach has, it's kind of confusing as to why she wants to be protected by Derek and the gang, especially so as she has seen Derek and the gang regularly beaten by the Alphas and almost killed. Hell right now, she is probably the strongest thing in this show. I love how careful this show is, with its continuity. The whole flashback part of this season is quite confusing in where exactly in time it takes place, as it doesn't all add up properly, but the show still does a pretty damn job in holding everything together. The emissaries may well have been made up in the last moment, but them never being mentioned, is rewritten as them being 'forgotten' and that is a driving part of the Darach's motivations. The same can be said for Stiles, in a show filled with badass teen archers and grown men with the power to throw you through the wall, you would think a comic relief human sidekick would be worse than a splinter in the eye ball. In reality the show uses him fantastically, his own knowledge of just how useless he is is actual used for the sake of a constant plot point and character arc pusher. His battle with his own irrelevancy makes him one of the most engaging, and loveable characters in the whole series and also makes him a fantastic window into the world for the audience who really can't relate to anyone else, as everyone in this show has their badass turned up to eleven at all times. Dat twist with the Guardians as well!

Teen Wolf S03E11.
Is Allison the best female character ever written? Probably. Her Dad is pretty fucking cool as well, which says a lot since they have no powers, and are surrounded by people with crazy ones. I love how Stiles and Lydia finally kissed, and they have chemistry! And hey, I may be no shipper, but Allison can't start dating Isaac, she belongs with Scott! Oh well...next stop, mid season finale!

Teen Wolf Season Three Midseason Finale.
How the fuck does any of this sacrifice stuff work? They went into some icy water, so it allowed them like...astral projection powers, why? And they survived being in that icy water, in a near death state, for sixteen hours? How? And what was all that shit about needing an emotional connection to go down and come back again? They seemed to wake up fine on their own. Cora inexplicably survives, just turns up and the show just brushes over that, only to have her brought back from death again. Is the show ever going to bother explaining her? Then again, Derek is no better, with his whole 'is he isn't he dead' storyline rushed to the point of meaninglessness only to throw him right back in the line of fire again. I know it's kinda an injoke with the show anyway, but throwing the characters in front of death at every single turn, takes the meaning away from their circumstances, it takes away the danger, the sense of purpose and stops us forming any kind of emotional engagement in what is happening to them. Holy fuck the Darach is a badass tho. Just a shame she made the Alphas look like little bitches, they turned out to be quite shit in the end really. The Demon Wolf himself finally shifted, and man WHAT A BADASS! Overall it was a great finale, and I can't wait until January!

3 and 4 same show, the former was a very interesting episode about cognitive blindness, the latter was ok, funny but not particulary outstanding.

I do not have words to describe this show. Is that a good or bad thing? |
