Not entirely true. There have only been four series to have 48 episodes, Fiveman, OhRanger, CarRanger, and now Kyoryuger. Kyoryuger wasn't really cut short, its just that this year had some additional breaks we haven't seen in a while, plus, if I recall, Kyoryuger even started later than normal because Go-Buster started a week later than they usually did. Tokkyuger now puts everything back on track as far as timing goes.

Now we have had a bunch of 49 episode shows.

Either way, the length a Sentai series is is usually dictated by how many weeks it actually airs over the course of 52. IF something happened that caused the show to not air for 5 weeks on top of the usual 2-3 absent weeks, we would probably see a series be 45 episodes unless they pull something like Gokaiger did to get in its 51st episode.

As for Tokkyuger, I've decided I am giving it 5 episodes to impress me. If I am not hooked by episode 5, I am going to just rewatch a series I like instead or try out one that has been fansubbed that I have not seen before.

Kyoryuger ended. I know when I watch the sub I'm going to be an emotional wreck, and I want to be happy. I already like Madam Noa, and the Deisel-Oh alone and it's combined form with Amtrak-Oh. But I need convinced to watch the first episode.

This is about where I'm at. Normally I'd give it closer to ten, like Kyoryuger, but I'm so iffy on this show's overall aesthetic that I'm probably going to be a lot less patient with it.
