FT, that is exactly what I needed/wanted. Thank you. I think I'll start with more 1/144 scale before moving on to MG. Just hoping they don't have the same quality as the Wing figures.

If you want a good Wing Gundam, get the HGAC (High Grade After Colony) Wing Gundam or Wing Gundam Zero. They're both great modern kits.

I also recommend the HGAC Wing Gundam, or the Revive RX-78-2. That'll show the difference time has made to the design of kits. The HGAC Wing Gundam is not even a very recent kit, but it's still great. Also, the Gundams in Wing were smaller than your average Gundam, so once you branch out into the UC or recent IBO kits, they'll not only seem far superior in quality, but in size. In fact, while I've only collected Wing suits in 1/100 MG, but have collected UC mostly in HG 1/144, I have some High Grades the same size or bigger as my Wing Master Grades. I always wanted to ask this. Can someone please explain what the various grades mean in terms of how hard the model is put together, what's involved, how detailed the models are, and the quality? Because I have absolutely no earthly idea other than the 1/144 scale GW sets usually suck.
There's also Real Grade, which is in 1/144 scale, they are much more expensive and detailed then their high grade counterparts. They come out semi-frequently. Quote:
And that is why I don't have the patience for model kits. Too many small pieces, stickers or having to rely on my terrible painting skills, and too many hours of attention require.
I had those Wing model kits TRU sold and after putting a bunch of them together I was like, "**** IT!! I'm buying the action figures!!" And that is what I did. Yeah, High grades have gotten a lot better over the past 15-20 years. |

They don't. HGs have greatly improved since the 90s. I think the old ones from that time can be fun for easy quick builds, but they don't come anywhere close to modern HGs. I would highly suggest getting some of these if you want some great HG building experiences:

Not all kits require stickers or paint. It's very case-by-case, usually depending on the design. For example the RX-78-2 Revive needs only a sticker for the eyes and forehead camera, but the HG Barbatos (which is far more complex) needs a lot of stickers. Both kits came out near the same time as each other. And even then the Revive RX-78-2 has it's eyes sculpted in trans yellow plastic, but lacks the black lining so it looks more like a Soundwave-style visor than seperate eyes.
The Wing kits you describe are ancient. Modern day HGs actually have partial or sometimes full inner frames, and far sturdier construction with far better sculpts and parts seperation. (so less or no need for paint) I also recommend the HGAC Wing Gundam, or the Revive RX-78-2. That'll show the difference time has made to the design of kits. The one I'm looking to get a decent set of is Talgeese or really Sandrock. Either EW or the show version. Wing itself does nothing for me, honestly. Design sacrificed for transformation.
F91 definitely from that list. I love that Gundam, so that's the one I think I'll look for first. It goes for pretty damn cheap to. I got mine a year ago on Amazon for $11 with Prime and it usually hovers in the $15 range. Great quick build. The play ability is amazing too. Alternate parts which swap out easy, including an extra face to give the kit the old sort of derp big eyed look as well as an extra faceplate for when it sort of has a mouth. Seriously, great kit which I think is better than the MG. Now if only we'd get new HGs of the other F91 and F90 suits.

So I got done watching RE:0096 and I can tell you the first episode is literally near the exact same as the OVA. I think there might have been a couple seconds of new fight footage spliced in when the Jegans go after Garcineras, but my memory with Unicorn is hazy at best.

Watched 6-13 today for 00. I thought 6-11 were great and the Virtue is now my favorite Gundam of the show thanks to its awesome looking mode. On the other hand, the two parter that dealt with the middle east was all right. Not much really happened and the princess is so delusional and naive that I wish she would just die already. She's not Relena bad, but she is getting there.
