Zeta Gundam Movie II - OH DEAR LORD!!! That was down right atrocious. This movie encompasses episodes 15-32 and it shows. Everyone is back in space by the half hour point, making everything irrelevant that even happened on Earth. Fourth has absolutely no character development whatsoever and her relationship with Kamille makes no sense because of it. If you just blink you might have missed an important scene because there is no pacing whatsoever. This feels like something Zack Snyder would have pieced together. The new animation continues to be out of place, but the worst part is that barely any of it even deals with the Zeta Gundam itself here.

Wow, that is just silly. Sure, the new hand looks way better, but that was a completely unnecessary alteration.

I'm trying to watch the UC stuff in order right now, so I'm probably going to hold off on watching this version of Unicorn until both volumes of ZZ is out and I watch CCA.

Wait what?Isn't the whole point of these movies the completely redone animation?

Are you telling me they didn't actually redo everything but are just haphazardly stitching new footage with old footage like a badly edited Power Ranger season?

It's not "haphazard." Nor is it a movie. It's a TV edit of the Unicorn OVA.

I'm surprised there's so many people butthurt over Unicorn Re:0096's first episode. Why? We kinda knew Sunrise had to get this show together kinda quickly to cover their asses over a failing show in a timeslot they want to keep.

But like, even I know how stuffy and picky and piggapig I can be, but it's like they have no filter. The idea of of edited (IMPROVED at a that) animation and it's "pointless" or "haphazardly stitched together." Like just spewing vitrol is a default response before thinking "hey, maybe this is okay?"

How about it's just nicer anaimation? Granted I'd never think it possible to improve Unicorn's animation, but if they can why not? It's not like Unicorn is some ancient cult classic being rebooted by Hollywood execs, it's getting edited for TV by the very people who made it to start. Hell, any other company editting anything for TV would just mercilessly chop up the OVA into 22 minute segments and be done with it, but they're actually adding new animation to it to work as a TV series. They give a shit about the product they're making and want ti to be the best it can be. How is that a bad thing?

I thought that it was obvious I was referring to the Zeta movies since Kain said the new footage looked out of place.

I thought he was talking about the Zeta movies, not Unicorn.

Yellow Ranger, yes, the Zeta movies are just compilation movies. The first movie takes footage from episodes 1-14, the second movie includes episodes 15-32, and the third movie is 33-50. They did make new scenes to bridge some of the footage together, but it just looks weird, especially when you will have a 5 second shot of new footage, then 10 seconds of old footage, and then 10 seconds of new footage, etc. Also, the character models look weird at times and Kamille's hair is more green.

IBO? I was referring to Brave Beats, the show that Unicorn replaced. Because from what I understand, Brave Beats was a Sunrise animated kids show that was bombing so badly, and Sunrise had to get something out to fill the timeslot. Hence why we have Re:0096.
