It takes place after the events of Iron Man 3, but it contradicts stuff in the MCU. One thing is the suits, which were supposed to be destroyed. The only thing that would make it canon are Tony's suits appearing in Age of Ultron and references to Crimson Dynamo, Ezekial Stane, Modok, and any other villains that died in the game. But that is unlikely (except for the suits thing. Tony can most likely rebuild them.)
