No. Tell me. How did the characters grow? What occurred in the series that changed the characters from how they were in the beginning?
Because, outside Don's little arc, I can't think of any. There was tons of potential and possible build up, but it's almost immediately dropped or solved by just destroying the monster. |

Whether you think it was GOOD development or not is a different matter entirely, but that is development and was most certainly there.

Here's what the link said: Quote:
As much as I agree that they should have given a few more of the pre-Liveman shows more focus, I think you should be glad that they got to appear at all. I recently found a very interesting interview between Utsunomiya and Takatera... Incoming huge wall-o-text.
When Gokaiger was being planned and all the way up to the end of the first coure/start of the second coure, they had already decided that they were only ever going to do tribute episodes for the shows that had Gokaioh add on toys to promote. So at the time of planning/writing/filming the Shinkenger episodes, the only other tributes planned were an episode where Gai gets the 3 powers for GoZyuJin(this was the Abare episode, which is why it has the Abare title scheme and only Nakadai was asked back), Hurricanger tribute and a Go-onger tribute. During the time of Shinkenger's episodes, it became apparent that the main cast's schedules were going to be very tight for a while because of other work, so to work around their strict schedules, the staff decided to do a one off tribute episode featuring a guest in the main roll. It was then quickly decided to get Yuji Kishi and Urasawa and do a Carranger episode. Even though plans were still unchanged after Carranger, it was decided that they wanted/needed to do an episode where Basco stole the great power of a team, and knowing that Basco had the Black Knight's ranger key, they decided to an episode involving Gingaman. The original plan for this episode was for Basco to steal Gingaman's great power, but have Gai steal back the Black Knight key. Utsunomiya says that they couldn't figure out a good way for that to all go down, so that plan was scrapped. At that same time they had already made an offer to Ogawa. When they talked to him, he told them ''Ryoma said he wants in too''. This part isn't in the article, but is pretty well known. Around the time of the offer to Ogawa was when the disasters in Japan all went down. Ogawa created the tokusatsu hero twitter for past toku actors to send messages to cheer people up. The account received a lot of publicity and messages from other Sentai vets, which made a lot of those sentai guys aware of Gokaiger and it featuring past actors making cameos. It's been said that after Ogawa first received the offer, he was at a bar with Maehara where they were talking about what they could do for the kids. Ogawa suggested ''reviving the brothers of the flame'' to Maehara, which is why Ryoma came back. Back to the interview.. After toei/Gokai staff accepted Ogawa's offer to to allow Maehara back and the traffic Ogawa's tokusatsu twitter was getting, it really ''lit a fire under the staff'' (Takatera's words). They started receiving lots of calls and messages from actors and even retired guys who found out about the show through the toku twitter/other means to let them show up in Gokaiger. That's why we suddenly started getting so many tribute episodes after Gingaman. Utsunomiya credits the Flame Bros' involvement online and in the show for drastically changing Gokaiger. Even after that, they still never knew who they could get, which is why the Basco'd 5 and Zyuranger appear so late, because they were never planning on them appearing. Everything involving guests post-Ginga was happening with little to no advanced noticed. As you probably know from Kazuoki's blog, their cameo was an extremely last minute thing. Basco stealing the powers was because they needed the villain to succeed in stealing powers and as insurance just in case they couldn't get those guys back and Zyu was obviously already taken care of. Since we know they were only going to do the toy related shows, it's been said that most, if not all of the other teams would have had their powers stolen by Basco. Also, if you remember when 199 was about to come out, we had a bunch of guests confirmed, but then after the movie was delayed we suddenly learned about another bunch of guests and returning voices? Those guys were brought in because of the delay and may have never appeared otherwise if the delay didn't happen. So both instances of floating heads were because of it being last minute additions (199 heroes was already finished its filming, so the head thing would have still been there, but with less guests). You also have to remember that the audience of late teens/young adults who started watching Gokaiger because of returning actors are of the 86~94 range, which is why pretty much every team after Liveman had a tribute. Without Ogawa and Maehara's involvement, the only tributes planned were Magi, Deka, Geki (weird, I know), Gao, Shinken, Car, Ginga, Hurri and Go-on. Damn, I apologize for the potentially incoherent wall of text , but thank you Teruaki Ogawa! http://forums.henshinjustice.com/sho...7&postcount=28 Just gives basically why Gokaiger turned out like it did.

So more tribute episodes. What does that have to do with less character development? If anything, playing off their seniors should've helped them grow more.

my faveite character has to be Marvilous due to the fact he was bad ass to the point that he says he did not care but in acctual facted he did and he started to care for his team more and more my best moment must be in shinkenger when Genta got turned into sushi and then by the next episode he was affraied of shushi the prime thing he makes and use and a changer i thought this was good due to that that he allowed use to see what happens after he break his fear
