Honestly, prefer this to the US version. There's just so much crap coming off the limbs in the other one.

Deka Gokai Oh was probably my favorite, that chain gun finisher was just too awesome

I get that there's the added functionality of zord builder. But the only thing it has on the original is size, the lack of paint as well as lights and sounds would make the BOJ release better in my opinion. The BOA release has a few things going for it but head to head, and for a far better price, it's Pat Striker all the way.

It's like a poor man's Heavyarms.
But with a pirate hat. So I guess that analogy doesn't really work.

I skipped over deka/SPD due to lack of interest. I'm going to need to rethink that now.

The thing that throws me off about this is the rainbow. I get that it represents the rangers of that particular series' team, and that it's seen on multiple mecha through the series, but on this vehicle in particular it just looks bad. Still, cool piece of equipment!

Now we're talking. I think Pat Striker makes great use of the barely-functioning DX GokaiOh gimmick, mainly because there are no spring loaded parts to not function properly after the compartments open (or don't). The guns just look pretty goofy when GokaiOh is holding them.

I don't know where this talk of the gimmick not working comes from, but I've had my Gokai Oh for years and have never experienced an issue with the dial gimmick, nor any of the spring loaded components than cat fit inside it. It's actually a really solid fun thing to play around with. It's funny I also discovered by accident last night that rather than turning the dial 1 complete turn to the right, if you barely turn it to the left instead it actually activates all 5 compartments simultaneously.

Nor have I.

Part of me wonders if the "not opening" problem may be from people thinking turning the wheel either way opens them all and being confused when only one does. Gokaioh was my first mecha and the one I've played wuth the most and the gimmick has only ever not worked if I havent put a piece in properly, which is my fault, not the toys'. |
