Alright guys so I'm planning to ahead and order Glenfire and Jean-Bot at least and maybe wait for some more funds for Mirror Knight. I'm also downloading the first episode of Restudan right now to try and give that a shot

Retsuden seems like a interesting series to choose to watch first. Is it actually subbed?

Well Grown Ups In Spandex is currently subbing it and if they're Sentai subs are anything to go by their damn reliable. Am I mistaken that Retsudan is a fairly recent series? It seemed like a good jumping on point for me, but I'm a novie on Ultra so I could be wrong

Yeah, caught the GUIS thing after I said that, whoops.

Retsuden is a clip show television series. Some of the early episodes are memorable early moments from the series they cover and later on they're just the direct-to-DVD specials (like Darclops Zero, the prequel to Ultraman Zero) split into twenty-something minute episodes with narration. I don't know how much a new fan would get out of them since I didn't ever check it out myself.

Oh. Well damn. Then I guess I just don't know what to start with. I don't really know of many places that are subbing Ultraman series so I don't know where to start.

The movies! Just watch the freaking movies!

You could still watch Retsuden too, the ones GUIS subbed so far are pretty straightforward. Or hell, buy the original Ultraman for six bucks or whatever on Amazon.
