No, Ninja Storm sucked. Mystic Force sucked. OO sucked. The two episodes I saw of JF sucked. SPD was average. DinoThunder is the only Disney era series that did not suck, but it was still heavily flawed.
But that's just my opinion. |

What about my feelings on Ryuki? I have none on it as I have never seen it.

Yes, but you must remember, Saban did not know what to do with MMPR or where they were going to take the show. They just got lucky Fox was willing to put the show on the air for 8 weeks of 40 episodes and that was all they were going to do. No one knew it was going to become the mega hit it was. Not to mention they did not know they were going to start following the yearly series format at the time. It was not until Season 3 where they started to do over arching stories, and even that did not really take full effect until In Space.
Oh yeah, and I found the listing, but that is so stupid. When I typed in Power Rangers, NOTHING came up for it. I had to type in Clash of to get it to come up which is dumb. Now is Super Samurai 20 ro 24 episodes? Netflix only has 20 episodes listed, but the last episode is titled Samurai Forever, so it sounds like that is the final episode. |

That said, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers was still stupid. Yes, times and circumstances were different, but I still have to wonder just how this franchise is still around 20 years later when Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers was so... poor. Quote:

Kinda late to the party, but from what I understand the Mega mode in Samurai, was in aprt responsibility of Bandai, who at the time was unsure if Shineknger was gonna get adapted or not, but not wanting to lose one of their most profitable brands made new figures based around Shinkenger designs, but not necesarily representing them.
So even if there was no series adapted they could still release something. Or maybe I'm crazy and nobody ever said that. Once it was decided that Shinkenger would be adapted, Bandai did not want to lose all this money they had spent making these "Mega Mode" toys, so Saban had to find a way to include the "Mega Mode" in the show in order to advertise the toys that were being made. I'm pretty sure that's why none of the Wave 1 Samurai toys had anything but the "Mega Mode". I always considered Mystic Force and SPD two of my favourite seasons just behind Time Force. Mystic Force got too obsessed with Nick towards the end, but I thought they did well with making an enjoyable adaption of Magiranger while keeping things unique and different at the same time. |

No, that's what I thought too! Bandai had already gone through the process of making "Samurai" toys, which were the "Mega Modes" because at that time it was assumed that Shinkenger was not going to be adapted and Samurai would be a toyline with no show support, so they made them look what they thought would sell to boys better.
Once it was decided that Shinkenger would be adapted, Bandai did not want to lose all this money they had spent making these "Mega Mode" toys, so Saban had to find a way to include the "Mega Mode" in the show in order to advertise the toys that were being made. I'm pretty sure that's why none of the Wave 1 Samurai toys had anything but the "Mega Mode". http://powerrangers.wikia.com/wiki/PLEX "As PLEX continued to develop elements in Sentai properties, they also continued to assist in the adaptations to Power Rangers. PLEX designed the Spirit Rangers for Jungle Fury, as well as the Mega Mode for Power Rangers Samurai. The Mega Mode was an opportunity for additional 'ranger forms' in toy form, as footage for the cockpits in Shinkenger were deemed replaceable. At Pacific Media Expo in 2011, Tsuyoshi Nonaka, one of PLEX's lead designers explained that the Mega Mode's design was usually reserved for Kamen Riders, and was inspired by Saban's own designs for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie." |

It's cool. Tony Oliver told me this when he was at NDK two years ago and he also talks about it on the DVD documentary.

Anyway, like I said, it was more because it was something completely unique and blew me away. Even my dad would watch it with me because he enjoyed it (same goes for Gargoyles and Batman). Sure, these days it is cheesy, but there is still something to be enjoyed there even when you take off the nostalgia goggles. Quote:
Super Samurai is 23 episodes, one of which is listed separately ("Trickster Treat"), and the other two are clipshows.

I wouldn't worry, it doesn't come across like Saban knew much either.
