I just finished watching episode eight of Ryuki. Ryuki so far is pretty good, but there are some things I think could of been done better. Such as when scissors was introduced I thought he was going to last longer, but he didnt. When he died I didn't really feel much of anything except, wow his monster ate him alive.

The mystery of why the riders are killing each other to me is one of the reasons I watch these episodes on after another as well as to see the new riders.

The similarities with Gaim are there just, when a rider dies in Gaim I think I'm gonna feel sad for the character that dies, because we got to now more about the character.

Yeah, Scissors really was mostly a throwaway rider, he was mostly there to introduce a few of the concepts of the rider war and drive home that this is a fight to the finish. For the most part the other riders get a bit more to them than he did.

Watched X 29 and 30 which featured Chameleon Phantom and Leech Dracula. I love how Keisuke just outsmarts the bad guys so easily and laughs at them. Love his new transformation pose and phrase. The Vacuum Hell Wheel is so awesome too. Also X Rider vs X Rider was pretty awesome too.

Decade: Black/Black RX

Ok, so is this an AR world, because I know Black and RX were originally the same dude. Also, what is with Kaito constantly being like "AHA! This treasure is mine!" then saying "Oh...well you know what Tsukasa? Nevermind." not five minutes later?

Kaito being inconsistent at everything is pretty much his defining character trait. :P

Anyways, up to episode 17 of Hibiki. We've met what I assume are all the main riders of the series by this point and they are all pretty cool in their own way. Zanki and his disciple are pretty awesome, love the guitar and the more developed dynamic we got with them as master and apprentice. I know we get a bit of that with Akira and Ibuki, but I dunno I just prefer the way Todoroki and Zanki interact. Hibiki himself is, of course, awesome. I like having a somewhat older protagonist and his interactions with Adachi are pretty good, just waiting for them to finally officially become master and apprentice.

I really enjoy the character interactions this season, and again the style and use of music and sound is just superb. Some of my favorite scenes are the ones with no spoken dialogue, just music and sound. Some great scenery too. Not super super big on the fights with the makamou. They're fun enough, even if the effects are pretty cheesy, and I like the way that the oni ultimately take them out. But they're not the big highlight to me. Kinda like how I preferred the interactions between the riders in Ryuki (both in battle and outside of it) than when they were fighting the mirror monsters. The fights with the douji and hime are ok, but aside from the berserk seemed to end way way too fast.

It always warms my heart to see someone new discover Hibiki.

Episode 17 of Kuuga, not in love with it for once. Why you might ask? Its a clip show episode. One that isn't necessary this early on in the series no less.

I am so glad I decided to take a chance on it. It's a season I recall just never really seeing much about anywhere. No one ever really seemed to be discussing it online. I just recall really digging the design for Hibiki and thinking some of the ideas behind it sounded neat and different. And honestly so far it's one of the better seasons I've watched. I just really hope that the latter half when the production was shifted around so much doesn't ruin it for me.

Up to episode 19 now, which looks to be focused on Todoroki. Given that the last couple episodes seemed to focus a bit on Ibuki so it seems this little block here was a way to explore their characters a bit more, which is nice to have. Seeing Ibuki as a bit of an indecisive guy while he was out with Kasumi whereas as a rider he seems more sure of himself, even foregoing Hibiki's offering of help to defeat the makamou that he would be much more suited to fighting, despite his injuries, persisting without Akira, without his weapon, etc. He almost seems a bit reckless, and towards the end of the episode it almost seemed set up in a way that you'd see them offing him in.

Pretty cool Makamou this week as well. Like I said I've not been a huge fan of them, but this one actually was rather nifty.

EDIT: Ugh...Narutaki. Stop blaming Decade for everything, what are you anyway? All he does is show up and talk to himself about how "This is all Decade's fault".

It helped me out but I was watching from Episode 5 and Faiz at the same time.
