Well, considering that Micchy is his little brother there was an established relationship between the two of them so all Takatora needed to do was give Micchy an explanation as to why he does what he does. He then allowed Micchy to make his own choice of what to do.
Kouta on the other hand needed a bit more convincing what with Zangetsu being a rather huge threat and nearly traumatizing Kouta for life after the two met in Helheim. If Takatora merely explained the threat to Kouta with no demonstration of how outmatched he was Kouta would've simply shrugged the whole thing off as complete BS and not even give what Takatora said a second though... That's how I took it anyway. ![]() Quote:
Episode 20: This episode was more or less one giant exposition dump, but a very well executed exposition dump. So...a destroyed civilization...holy crap. Honestly, I can't tell who's in the right here...Kouta, Kaito, or Takatora, they all make really good points. MORAL AMBIGUITY! MORAL AMBIGUITY, EVERYWHERE! I seriously wonder where the heck Urobochi is going with this.

Black RX 17
The finale to the Princess Garonia arc. This was a really, really fun series of episodes and probably one of the best stories I've seen based around granting a Rider new forms (even if the mechanics that led to those new forms were kinda dodgy). Bio Rider debuted this time and he really is every bit as overpowered as I've always heard (Robo Rider has a gun, Bio Rider can turn into plasma, redirect energy attacks, and some attacks just pass right through him). I like split between the two forms: Robo Rider is like the extreme extension of his cyborg half while Bio Rider is an extreme of his human half. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not, but I like the idea. Also, this episode snuck in a cameo by the instrumental version of Long Long Ago, 20th Century and it was fantastic to hear that again. Nothing against RX's ending theme, but Black's soundtrack is unmatched. |

Black Episode 5
OH MY GOD! IT'S AN ANGRY MOB! Wait she's the only one with your new phone number? Why? Shouldn't you give it out to all your family and friends? I smell our plot! Struggling a little there Kotaro? So how come you lifted up a werewolf with plenty of ease last episode, but this girl is causing strain? Forget to eat your Wheaties or something? Makes sense to go to the village where she started getting weird. But Kotaro why would you think it's Gorgom? I mean we all know it will be their fault but you can't just assume like that. Maybe we should replace "It's all Decade's fault" with "It's all Gorgom's fault!' Kotaro you do know that you could've had those guys off of you in about five seconds right? Lord Goat? Huh I didn't know the head of Gorgom was ![]() Looks like they're obeying your will pretty well already. Too late. Man that is some terrorist like shit those villagers are doing. Throwing fire into this old man's house. Don't they have any respect for their elders? Between this being a night fight and all this damned smoke, it's a little hard trying to tell what all is going on. Finally I can see clearly! And it's at the end of the fight...well that blows. This fight scene is probably the worst I've seen of the show so far mostly because I couldn't freaking make out anything that clearly until the very end of the fight when the mutant was about to get kicked into oblivion. So yeah, bad fight scene, bad! Well episode 5 was fairly nice. Only knock against it is that pretty crappy fight scene. Other then that, it wasn't all that bad.

Black Episode 6
Well the Eagle Mutant looks alright. The head is pretty goofy looking though and looks skinny compared to how big the rest of it's body is. Plus I would have loved to have seen black wings instead of white ones. So Gorgom has kidnapped artists in under to train them in ESP so that they can steal important documents like blueprints? That sounds utterly silly. Why not keep that plan, but cut out all of the espionage stuff. Train them to draw you monsters or weapons or anything you as Gorgom need, and with their ESP powers bring them to life? That sounds like a better plan then training people in ESP just so you can steal blueprints. Man dressed like an eagle eh? I think I know the culprit is. ![]() I love how they all have drinks while they're performing an interview. It's just one of those things that makes me smile. God I love these night shots with Black. He just looks so damn pretty in them. Whenever I get my Black renewal I so need to try and take a night time like picture of him. This plan just got even more stupid if you ask me. Yeah because you obviously have broken legs and arms. Get in there yourself you lazy house wife! And you too you kid! Your sister is trying to drown herself. Don't just wait for help, BE the help! Was that a jab of the hard working and elitist ethic of Japans business side? Nahhhhhhhhhhh. What is the damn point of this! This business and super computer bull crap has no reason to be in a Kamen Rider show! Why does Gorgom care so much about it? They're a satanic cult that has magic, why do they want to crash the damn business world? It makes no fucking sense! You I'm just now noticing that after Kotaro transforms into Black that his suit starts to smoke. Why is it? ![]() Well that was an alright fight. Mostly it was just Kotaro getting beaten down until the tail end of the fight, but that seems to be the norm with Black. So no use in really complaining about it. Black comes from a different time and so the fights won't be like what I'm use to with the Heisei shows. It is fairly repetitive, but I won't let it bother me too much. So with Eagle Mutant destroyed, did they lose their psychic powers or do they still have them? Also is this narration going to play after every episode about how Black is a cyborg and how he wins the day with his anger and sadness? Well episode 6 was...something. To be quite honest I didn't really enjoy this one. All of the Wall Street meets psychic type stuff pretty much killed the episode's story for me. It just doesn't belong in Kamen Rider (the business stuff). And to top that off the overall plan of Gorgom was stupid as well. Not just for wanting to destroy computers, but for teaching artists ESP and then having them enter the business world. As I suggested earlier why not train them in ESP and then have them draw weapons and monsters for you to then bring to life? Hell you don't even need to teach them ESP for that, you could bring them to life yourself. So as you can all probably tell, I didn't care for the story. Outside of that there really wasn't much else that I enjoyed outside of the music (that bass line playing when Kotaro breaks into the psychic school, boss). The fights were alright but were pretty short and typical. Once again I don't mind as much since this is from the Showa era and fights weren't that lengthy or elaborant yet, but it is something I can't really get all that pumped up for (I only really got into the first three fights of the show). So yeah, this is the first Black episode I honesty don't really care for or like.

Ah, this episode. I love this one. Not because it's good, but because the evil plan of the week is so completely insane and nonsensical. It's right up there with the V3 episode where the monster turned people into exploding flying squirrels.
