Wow, for real?! Sunred convinced me to watch Kakegurui live-action last year and I totally loved it! I'm suddenly very excited about King-Ohger!
I'm also glad the lilac ranger is a dude, since butterflies suffer an unfortunate stereotype of being girly. I've noticed that anytime someone imagines an OG bug motif Sentai, there's always a female pink butterfly ranger. So it's nice that Toei are actually trying to depict the more macho side of a butterfly that is often overlooked. Hopefully the movie was good too. It?s not on US netflix, so I have not watched it yet. |

Without spoiling anything for you, I thought the first movie was very enjoyable with lots of action and plot twists. Would recommend for sure! The second movie was okay, but takes a darker tone than the series and first movie, loses some of the humor.

It was pretty much the second coming of Hana Kimi 2007.

I will say that the Reiwa era of Sentai has been super unique so far. Personally, each series keeps one-upping the previous one in ways I did not expect.
Insects are kind of a peak thing for me so I can't see how this will be topped. I hope we see suit upgrades for everyone based on their fighting style.

Huh, what happened to the silver of KuwagaOhger's helmet? For that matter, HachiOhger's mask has yellow stripes instead of orange stripes.
Like you could argue that it's just the lighting on the reveal poster (like how TonboOhger is a lighter blue but in the magazine appears to use the usual darker shade), but you can clearly see that KuwagaOhger's helmet's mouthplate is silver, and that HachiOhger's mask is orange and not yellow. Does this mean that they might have like, powerup modes or something? It could be possible that they're prototype designs, but that brings to question which ones are the prototypes, and why they'd even use them alongside the final helmets to begin promoting for KingOh-ger. Sidenote, seems like we're getting one new Rider who might be actually sticking around due to the new helmet while the other one might also just be a temp since it's a modified version of the Ginpen/Keilow helmet. Plus, I wonder if Seeker's buckle will find its way into the main series if Geats is showing it off. EDIT: Upon a closer look, I guess it really is just light glares on both sides of KuwagaOhger's helmet in the promo poster, 'cuz it's a bit more uneven on the chin than I thought. But I still think that HachiOhger's mask was more orange than yellow. Last edited by MKDremare; 12-22-2022 at 08:40 PM.. |

That's gotta be the most components to a main robo configuration ever, no? I quite like the design, though it does bug me (Pun not intended) that the Butterfly seems to just become the hand guard for the sword?
I mean, I already don't like when robo components are just weapons and nothing else, unless they're extra ones, like the smaller cubes in Zyuohger, etc. But couldn't the butterfly at least, I dunno, have been a shield for the left hand or something? I think that's my overall biggest issue with it. I mean, we get the extra bugs to form components of the body. Just seems weird to me that they'd then also have the butterfly barely contribute. Maybe that's just me? |
