My guess is that the show has nothing to do with vikings and "Geats" is either a gibberish title like Gaim or Revice or a very bad approximation of something that only barely makes sense in context like Ex-Aid.

Yeah I'm leaning in a similar direction now after the realization that the katakana doesn't add up for the Viking theory....

I'd guess it'll be smth like Revice or Ex-Aid where it makes (some) sense once we see the suits and show theming but not much sense in a vacuum

If I were to do some betting...

Maybe "Gears + Beats" for a Mechanical and Music themed rider, "Gears + Eats" for a Mechanical and Food themed rider, "Good/Great Beats" for a just Music themed rider?

Or it could be none of those lol

If it is a pun on gears I sort of hope we don't have another Robot/AI thing going on, I feel like we've had a lot of that ever since Drive... And Zero-One was so recent lol. I hope it's less robotics and computers and more like physical "Cogs and gears" style machinery if that is the pun

The most interesting part to me is that someone on Twitter actually found that the upcoming Gashapon listing for the gimmick allocated 8 Items to the set.

For reference, the last time Rider had 8 Gimmick Items for Gashapon was Wizard. Recently, Ultraman Geed, R/B, Taiga and Z all had 8 Gimmick Items for Gashapon.

For one, it's pretty safe to assume that for most of the gimmick items the sounds will come entirely from the belt, and that we have either some gimmicks that will only activate attacks only with no forms attached (Like Wizard, R/B, and Taiga), or it will be a Geed/Z situation where multiple items are used for each form.

In all honesty, it sounds pretty interesting. Maybe getting a gimmick like Build or Saber where multiple items can make a form or getting a gimmick that adds to the base form like Fourze or Drive would be pretty cool to see.

While I wouldn't be shocked to see non-electric gimmick items again, and this reasoning seems mostly good, it's a bit assumption based...

EDIT: looks like the 8 items source is from Matt Hunt who is generally reliable, but what those 8 items means is all assumptions, fairly reasonable assumptions, but assumptions none-the-less

In all seriousness, as cool as the Viking Theory (debunked though it may be), it's most likely just a name, since while the "gear" pun is not a bad guess, it would feel a little too close to Sentai's gear theme that's still going, though ruling out the possibility that Toei is trying to cash in on another shows theme (at least in a sense), since Build's Bottles could be seen as similar to Geed's Capsules. I'm going to stick with the weird name for whatever theme it goes for.

(Though I gotta say, Geats is a very weird name, that will certainly take getting used to)

I have to agree the name is a little weird sounding... Probably will take some getting used to lol. Though I feel like it'll probably sound cooler when it's being said by actors than it sounds in my head lol

Imo it does sound a bit better imagining it being pronounced by people as "Gitsu" rather than how you'd usually pronounce "Geats" in English

Though... I keep thinking "Geats" kinds sounds more like an Ultraman name to me than a Rider name.... but idk if that really makes any sense? (I don't mean this in a bad way tho, it's just a random thought)
