That is indeed the Minipla, and I don't think Blade Fang would know if they're easy or not to plug in because those aren't their photos

Now that I'm thinking about it it probably would be easy to plug in. The candy toy blog for Onitaijin showed images of it using Avatar Momo's sword and gun, showing they do use the same peg system, and that Robotaro can even use Avatar's alternate hands

I just had a wild idea, but I don't know if it's a good one or not.
I'm considering throwing some panel lining on my DX Don Onitaijin. I know plenty of people do panel lining on their Sentai Minipla, but I've never seen anyone do it on a DX toy (probably because Bandai has never attempted screen accuracy or realism in the DX mecha line until now). Barring any recommendations to the contrary, my plan is to start with the Don Robotaro component and see how it goes. I'm planning to pick up the more articulated Don Robotaro once it's up for preorder, so if I fuck that guy up, it won't be so dire. But. Before I pull the trigger. Is there any reason I should avoid doing this? Like... will the plastic crack and degrade? |

I personally would wait until that new Don Robotaro is fully revealed, because it might also have a bit more paint and thus alleviate the issues you're trying to fix with the one you already have.

It’s not so much that I have a problem with it (though I have seen the P-Bandi version with extra paint apps that suddenly make the retail release a little flat by comparison)… I just know how much better my Gunpla looks with a little panel lining to bring out some of the finer details.
I wouldn’t do any major recoloring, just throw on a little texture here and there, especially in the gray plastic areas. Although I suspect the gray plastic is ABS, which should be fine with my Gundam markers but may present some issues if I want to use my Tamiya liners. |

Supposedly, the DX Don Robotaro with enhanced articulation drops today.
Anyone having luck finding this guy? |

Gotcha. I’ve been on the lookout on Hobby Genki, since it seems like they sometimes post listings earlier than 3pm JST. I was able to snag an Aguilera from them at around this time on the day she dropped, but I have no idea if that’s a common occurrence.

Looks like Hobby Genki and Anime Export aren’t carrying the new Don Robotaro. I really really don’t want to spend the $90 Tokullectibles is charging for it. Do I have any other options?
