Revice fell off for me cause the main villain was boring and the character arcs felt paced weird so hopefully our Riders being rivals might help fix that for the first half since it looks like the DGP might be 6 months again but that is getting ahead of things and right now Geats feels a refreshing with a main character that has a bit more mystery and might not be 100% a good guy because we don't know his motivation is yet unlike well most main riders.

Keep in mind that just because he's not the titular character doesn't mean he can't be the main character.
Kabuto, another series with a cool ace main rider, basically had it's story revolve around Kagami, the more blundering secondary rider, until the final quarter. A better and more official example of a non-titular protagonist would be Shounen from Hibiki. Quote:
I'm thinking the point where we'd normally get a secondary rider introduction, we'll instead get Kamen Rider Tycoon's and Kamen Rider Naago's unique gear. Looking at the group shot of the "Blank" forms you'll notice only our four "Main" riders have accents to their suits, which to m means all four will have signature gear sooner or later.

Obviously still have a lot to learn about the story, but I'm especially curious to see what's up with Keiwa's girlfriend seemingly no longer existing. It looked like he remembered the big battle, but I don't know if that means he's aware that she's not around anymore or not.

That's right, Sara is Keiwa's older sister.

Michinaga's kind of mean, but I respect how he's honest about his selfish motivation and willing to call out others on their hypocrisy for trying to appear more heroic than they actually are, when everybody's in the DGP for their own desires. Excited to see how his rivalry with Ace will play out.

Keiwa is pretty cynical for someone who wishes for world peace. I can relate a little to his struggle to find work, since it's real competitive out there, but maybe that halfhearted attitude is the reason why nobody's taking him seriously. I mean, he doesn't even like Neon's channel!

Having Geats' debut take place during the last act of an initial battle royale is genius because it A.) Gives us a valid reason to show off the Rider at his strongest (initial) state and avoids the whole "civilian suddenly knows how to fight" issue and B.) It gives us a rundown of the series premise without needless exposition or weird contrivances. Juxtaposing Ace's overconfidence with Keiwa's more idealistic personality was great, reminded me not only of Kabuto but also of Donbrothers, where the civilian Haruka is more the focus while the experienced Momoi is more the foil. There's a lot going on here with all of the characters. Plenty of mystery and I'm really excited to see where this goes next.

Michinaga's stuff is often pulled in real life (that can glamorize cynicism/nihilism), against pretty much every kind of good deeds, responding to anything with criticism, sarcasm, and distrust of that person?s intentions. The view where everyone is supposed to have ulterior motives, bad, untrustworthy, and full of lies is often pushed. Of which it's more about them being like that but projects themselves on others. For this case, are you only refering to the DGP contestants?

Keiwa's behavior of not liking Neon's channel, that is quite common in real life and probably would earn him loads of supports on internet. Hating successful public figures like celebrities are often encouraged and praised as "noble" due to "standing up against capitalism" or something.

I know the character referred to the female person as his sister. But only because I've read the subtitles. I know how Japanese people refer to their relatives, I know the words. But having them being spoken in a scene while my head tries to make sense what's going on - I don't think it's as easy for many of us to understand it. If you can that's cool, but please don't shame Switchblade for not being able to |

I don't think it's fair to put the blame on Switchblade for that mixup when it was the subs they watched that didn't clarify it.

If you can that's cool, but please don't shame Switchblade for not being able to I remember back when there were only two main sub groups, it often used to take until midweek. So for those of us who wanted to watch it ASAP, carefully listening to the Japanese words was the only option. Ironic how some subs translating something like "Onee-chan" as "[insert name here]" can actually detract from understanding instead.

Yeah, I my have watched the same subs as Switchblade, because mine didn't clarify their relationship at all, and I assumed Girlfriend. If it was ever specified, I must've missed it.

Sorry if it sounded that way, it wasn't my intention to offend or shame, just curious is all.

The only phrase I recognize anywhere is the Japanese equivalent to "Are you alright? Please get to safety!" because they say that like at least 50 times in each show Quote:
My subs translated it as "Sis" so it worked out. |
