Ah, yes, we had two romances in Beast Morphers. No one complained about those, but the moment a hint at a possible same-sex relationship is shown, it's too much.
Love the hypocrisy. It's a relationship. If relationships are something that doesn't belong in kids' shows, then why don't we hear complaints about hetero couples? Children will get it, it's not a complicated subject. Two people just like each other. Simple as that.

At the end of the day, it's a KIDS show. Kids don't want current year politics shoved in their faces, why do think kids watch things like Avatar TLA, Boss Baby and Trollhunter. Because they want entertainment with the current day progressive politics, not shows that appeal to the 20's 30's something Tumblr crowd like Netflix She-Ra.
And its not like having a gay couple will ruin the show. Owl House, Steven Universe and She Ra all had gay couples and they're all really good (at least in my opinion) You are right that kids don't care about politics, which is why they won't see this as political. No kid watching Dino Fury is going to look at Izzy and Fern and say "this is too political. They're clearly just pandering to the LGBT community". They're just going to see to people dating, just like Nate and Zoey last season and all the other couples in Power Rangers. Being gay isn't political, you're the one making it political. |

"Entertainment is meaningless if you can't even relate to it."
I cannot relate to any of the characters or scenarios in Devil May Cry but they still have meaning to me. Entertainment doesn't and shouldn't have to be relatable in order to evoke investment or emotion from your audience. More Muslims started playing Watch Dogs Legion and Cyberpunk 2077 because of the addition of hijabs to the wardrobe options. |

You know how bad it is when a douchebag even criticized the other guy for somehow bringing politics into this.

Gay kids exist. I know; I was one of them. Gay kids are usually born to straight parents. Said parents are likely to assume - most of the time correctly, but sometimes very much not - that their kids will also be straight. They'll speak to their kids on the assumption that said kids are not queer, and if they believe nonsense like "mild queer representation on TV is somehow inappropriate for children," they're may well say things that are incredibly hurtful to their children, and have no idea that they're doing so. The question is not whether queer kids are going to be queer, but whether they'll *feel safe* expressing that part of themselves. Also, please be aware that young queer people, if they're raised in a homophobic environment, are disproportionately likely to commit suicide. Cause -> effect. Whether young people feel safe being themselves is literally, in some cases, a matter of life and death. When I was growing up, there was no gay representation available to kids whatsoever. It would have made a seismic difference to me if I'd seen a casual representation of queer love in a kids show. If my parents hadn't believed homophobic nonsense, my path through growing up would've been a lot easier. I grew up and came out in a fundamentally homophobic environment. It thrills me that some kids these days might not have to go through that. This is the direction in which the world is moving. The genie will not go back in the bottle, nor should it. You don't gain anything by treating this thing, which is not about you, as though it's an affront to your sensibilities. Having a negative attitude about queer folks is never going to bring you any kind of happiness. All it will do is bring you frustration and a sense of being left behind. Fortunately, you have a choice in this. You could, if you wanted, decide that maybe a mild representation of lesbian love on Power Rangers isn't an attack on you or your values. I imagine that no one here would think less of you; if anything, I expect you'd gain a little respect. I know I'm always impressed when people manage to overcome their biases. |

This is a cool thing. I’ve never been one for PR, but I might just check out Dino Fury to support this.

Once again...why do we care about sexual representation and political stuff?
I don’t give a shit about it. You’re gay, I’m bi or anything you want, who cares? So bottom line is: why is this news worthy? It’s been done to death...or are the US so late mentalitywise that we need representation that much? |

This is a huge moment in Power Rangers because the television show has notoriously skirted the issue of LGBTQ representation.

I find it hilarious that someone could say kids don't want politics shoved in their faces and then site A:TLA as an example of what kids want...
...You know the show that dealt with things like public oppression, regimes with brainwashing propaganda, nations occupying other nations whether they wanted it or not, segregation, follow-up material that questioned the morals about separating people from a nation they've woven themselves into without any negative repercussion, need I go on...
