Digimon Adventure was overrated.
Digimon Adventure 02 was dull as hell and had a stupid climax, final battle, and ending.
Digimon Tamers is a god among Shonen anime for boys ages 9-15.
Digimon Frontier was crap.
Digimon Savers was meh, but I heard it gets better.
Digimon Xros Wars refuses to end.

I'm with you there. Season 01 made very little sense, Season 02's ending made even less sense. Seriously, they couldn't think of anything better than a return of Myotismon? 03 is a pinacle of excellence. But.. really depressing when Jun gets abducted by the Reaper 04 was good, honestly. JP alone is worth watching. And I haven't seen Xros yet.

It's what I wished all Digimon could be. Serious but not "Edgy," dark but not "Grim."
It was enjoyable because it knew how to have fun, but it also knew when to reel it back in and take a scene seriously. Characters were allowed to laugh, but it wasn't a happy go lucky romp through funland with an action scene every now and then.

What bugs me is that the DVD releases as far as i know skipped Tamers and are releasing Frontier instead.

As far as I'm concerned every series suffers from a distinct lack of MetalSeadramon.

Even the ones he actually appears in.

It's depressing, and that's what makes it all the better. The heroes have an incentive to win that the audience can get behind. It made things all the more tense when they made the (Incredibly wise) decision to leave the Primary village out of it and had the series take place primarily in the human world.
Adventure/1 explicitly stated that Digimon never die, they just get reborn in the Primary Village. Boom. Instant tension killer.

"What if Wargreymon loses the fight?"
Who cares. Tai just has to go to the Primary village and find Agumon's egg.
"What if WarGrowlmon loses the fight?"
Mihiramon absorbs his data and Guilmon is lost forever.
