Because its obviously popular, and offers a further incentive for people to keep buying these toys series after series. I'm sure if I actually bought DX toys the inaccuracies would bug me somewhat, but as a kid I would have LOVED for my old PR toys to have something like zord builder.

Why couldn't Bandai America import the originals?
Although judging by the amount of reported breakages Kyoryuzin had, some changes are for the better. Quote:
Why is Bandai America being run by Mr. Krabs?

Why is Bandai America giving us limb-swapping that doesn't even happen in the shows? What stupid little kid is going to realize that NONE of this limp-swapping happens in any of the shows?

Why aren't these things be aimed at both kids and adults?

They do for the main zord. They have been since Samurai/Shinkenger. Sure it comes later, but collectors who are in the know enough to even know the Japanese version is different also have the ability to use to the internet and import it if they wanted it that badly. Although judging by the amount of reported breakages Kyoryuzin had, some changes are for the better. Sigh. Just because it doesn't happen in the shows doesn't mean its something that shouldn't happen. Collectors may not like it but its an insanely cool gimmick to offer to children. Aka the target audience. Different demographics have different wants. When it comes to the currently airing series, kids are the priority And what's stopping you from just ordering a BoJ Kyoryuzin if it bothers you that much? |

Bandai America stop using the Japanese molds back with Jungle Fury and using the Japanese molds cost more money. The huge size of Kyoryuzin would be a very pricey toy and most parents would stay from it if it's above the normal price.
This is not the 90's and early-mid 2000's anymore. Times has change and I think Bandai America is doing a okay job on their toys. As long if kids enjoy buying them then they will keep on making them. |

There's a number of factors that go in to why these figures are not imported here as is.
1) Cost The complex engineering on some of the figures is just too much to justify on this end of the ocean. Add that to the fact that the Japanese market tends to create larger mechs meaning heavier mechs and a lot of times the cost is factored in by the weight of the figure (see: Transformers and why toys that used to be Deluxe size are now smaller and cost more). 2) Safety In some instances, a toy wouldn't pass a safety test. The most popular safety test is the "drop test" ... if a figure drops from a certain height, what breaks and are the things that break sharp edges or harmful for kids? A lot of the Japanese sized mechs would never pass a drop test. Blame moms for that one. 3) Demographic markets The one thing that Bandai of America figured out is that releasing toys that cost $40 a pop and don't interact with the previous year is a line-killer. The Zord Builder feature allows for all the toys to interact with each other no matter the year. From a marketing standpoint, it's brilliant and it's paid off immensely. That will probably never change. The one thing I would like to see is the removal of the "Zord Builder" feature on the Legacy toys. In some cases it works fine (IE: MMPR Megazord), but in others it doesn't make sense (Dragonzord, Tigerzord). Either way - the playability that comes with these new zords looks great. Where Super Megaforce failed to have the individual zords have any importance or playability themselves, Dino Charge has made each zord have some special feature that you can unlock (whether it's a laser, or a claw feature, or a spinning feature, etc.) Great stuff.

A lot of people were having problems with the clips breaking on the BOJ ones. That's one reason why I'm glad they're not using the original mold for these.

The difference between the Dino Charge Zords and the Super Megaforce Zords are like night and day!
BOA have really stepped it up! The Super Megaforce line was awful but these Zords actually look almost on par with the BOJ releases! The Zord Builder is un-intrusive, the gimmicks are left almost completely in tact... If I didn't already own the Kyoryuger mechs I'd be really, really tempted by them all. The lack of the awful Clip QC doesn't hurt either! I had to fix my Pteraidenoh... I really like the power draining gimmicks of the Batteries too! |

So far the toys look ok, the zords look better than I expected they would, being BoA.

My only issue with BoA is that the Zord builder line products just Feel cheap sometimes, and its a decent line of products.
that and some paint apps that BoA shouldn't forget. |

Explain to me: Why won't the Zord Builder System end? Why couldn't Bandai America import the originals? Why is Bandai America being run by Mr. Krabs?
