The main cast of stage show Fuuto PI:
Aссel's actor looks incredibly cool, I hope he will not let you down in action. But for some reason I want to ask the girls to switch roles. Last edited by Mesnick; 10-04-2022 at 03:16 PM.. |

![]() Didn't expect the signal flare bit with Reactor Dopant. I figured he was gonna weld his wound shut and keep fighting. But the alternative we got lead to some decent moments with the rest of the cast, so I can't complain, really. The final battle of the season is next week, and I'm most certainly looking forward to it.

I love how Tokime uses the classic female hiding area of her cleavage to hide the card...it's just too bad Brachiosaurus has controlling powers that he can use on her and then promptly uses it as an excuse to feel up her cleavage to get said card.
Well, no surprise that Accel immediately had to go into Trial with how strong Reactor is, and W is only able to deal some damage to him with HeatTrigger and a new finisher called the Trigger Beetle Blaster (I love Shotaro's Finisher names). But even that only just does some damage, not finish him off. So Shadow Fuuto has an army of Road Dopants who are regularly devouring people and the other stray Dopants in order to build up Shadow Fuuto...although now that they're goons, they're much more easily taken out compared to the original Road Dopant. But what they lack for in quality, they make up for in quantity. I didn't think this kid could get more creepy until he forced Tokime to undress herself for his amusement and to humiliate her...but it seems like Tokime has her own internal abilities that was able to ward off the control he had on her, so she's able to stop and run away before exposing her bountiful bosom and having to take her pants off. I guess we'll have to settle the score between the Riders and Reactor another day as he boots them out of Shadow Fuuto. What is the "appointed day" though? The date when they plan to have Shadow Fuuto take over regular Fuuto? Ah, the classic Kamen Rider moment of the Riders de-transforming the moment they hit water! Toshiki Inoue would be proud. The heroes are scrambling to find a way back into Shadow Fuuto and Shotaro is despondent over losing Tokime, but thankfully an Akiko slipper into the head is enough to get him to realize he should go back to his specialty, which is detective work. The key to all of this turns out to be honest detective work and a granddaughters' love and knoweldge of her grandap as they're able to find the valve that kicked this case off and seems to have been planned as a way to create easy access between normal Fuuto and Shadow Fuuto. But now it can be used by the Kamen Riders to get back and save both Rentaro and Tokime! I figured the Road Dopants couldn't help themselves when it comes to eating the people they were supposed to fidn...but wow, Tokime with the hero moment, saving Rentaro and promoting herself as a detective assistant! Complete with a JoJo pose! Nikaido just can't get enough of his suspenders, huh? |

Episode starts: Me: "2319!! We got a 2319 over here!"
Knowing how fights turn out led me to think W's new move would do nothing to Reactor, then I thought he'd regenerate or something. But you know what? I kind of like these kinds of subversions. It keeps both sides fresh and not overdone, but that's just me. I figured Tokime had some kind of powers, whether she has like BSD Dazai's cancellation powers or something more, we'll have to wait and see. Also, great to see Stag get spotlight this episode. First with Shoutarou's new finisher (which was a great sequence) and Tokime taking the stage. It's a shame next week will be the season finale, but I'm still looking forward to it, as this has been a very good so far. And Gigannit, I can't stop thinking of Ohsuga whenever that guy slams his suspenders. And I laughed more than I should have at him killing the Road Dopants and BrachioKid's reaction.

So Road Dopants here are used as Reactor Dopant's army. Wonder if those Road Dopants are still on similar strength as the original, and maybe there'd be seen how far is the gap between base W and likely W Xtreme if it's brought up here.
The focus on Other Fuuto makes Tokime's addition to the team more important as someone with powers and a better access to Other Fuuto, though there can be a disadvantage with her seemingly losing control to be pulled there (to danger). Akiko provides the big solution by simple things/casual conversation again here, with Philip realizing that it's better to look for a chance even if not guaranteed to succeed, but it'd be better than nothing. What makes Shotaro lose his cool would be, of course, the loss of many human lives being used to build Other Fuuto by Road Dopant Army. Shotaro claims he's rushing without thinking about the consequences (of which I disagree that this is a quality should be done or what counts as heroic quality), but he didn't seem to actually do that (actually good) with him doing something by looking for documents instead of immediately jumping into scene.

Tokime and Rentaro are on the run from Dopants, but while it's one thing to avoid them, it's another thing to outrun them.
Now it makes sense why Rentaro got so involved. He didn't want his machines contributing to terrorists or to the deaths of others again. Gotta love Tokime's newfound confidence in moving on from whatever her past is and willing to take the fight to the bad guys! She's really grown a lot this season! You know it's a proper Rider finale when they do the title card and bits of the theme song! Of course they bring it back for the final battle so it's suitably epic. This series had so many fanservice moments with the ladies, but here's buck-naked Nikaido with his six pack! So basically this wasn't about traveling to Shadow Fuuto, they were building a machine to control Nikaido's powers since as a High Dope his Reactor abilities seep into his human form and needs to be contained for him to properly live. Dude can shoot eye-beams! Although while the process itself is harmless, Nikaido being able to use his powers normally still means bad things for Fuuto. Nothing quite like a save from the Xtreme Memory as Shotaro and Philip arrive heroically to save Tokime and Rentaro. And Terui makes short work of the device which ticks Nikaido off almost as much as Philip explaining how he figured everything out. Gunner A! Man, I almost forgot about it. I can't even remember the last time they showed it, but they sure got a lot of mileage out of it here. Henshin straight into Xtreme! And one last "Now, Count Up Your Sins!" and now we're ready for the final battle of this season as Accel deals with the Road Grunts. A beam war would've been cool, at least until Nikaido used Tokime as a hostage, but it's not a proper Kamen Rider finale without a Rider Kick as W uses the Prism Memory to deliver a vicious series of kicks against Reactor and breaks his container, making him explode. Bonus points for W doing all this while princess carrying Tokime. That's got to be the most romantic Rider Kick ever. Utopia Dopant cameo! I guess that also kind of foreshadowed Foundation X being involved. Wow, I really thought Nikaido was straight up dead, but with the last of his power he sacrifices himself to stop the heroes from getting into Shadow Fuuto. He may have been a bad guy, but his loyalty and dedication to Bando was true, and I guess it was fitting Bando was there for him in his last moments. So Tokime is apparently not the Joker Dopant. Does that mean we won't get to see her transform? And was she intended to be the Joker Dopant, she just never used it? Just more questions. Although it was priceless how she checked her cleavage for the memory port and they presumably stripped her off-screen to check to make sure it wasn't anywhere else in her body...after the boys left of course. Bando was involved with Foundation X? That does not surprise me. Though nothing in the book seems to mention any relation he might have with Tokime. Tokime wants to know everything as she faces her mysterious past, and basically wants to watch Kamen Rider W, but for now Shotaro is going to recount Begin's Night to her as they have a romantic moment together at night in the same spot where their feelings for each other started to brew. Pretty solid ending all things considered. Somebody was watching the WizardxGaim movie to do everybody as Sengoku Era characters...and they all look pretty good! And we end on Hosoya finally getting to say "Oi, Akiko!" |

Sure hope we get a season 2. Especially if it involves a retelling of Begins Night.

Really loved how the finale ended by leading into the original series.
Obviously we can get a second season, but until that's confirmed, ending the anime in a way that both says to the new viewers to give the original series a shot and also frames it as Shotaro retelling the events of the series to Tokime works extremely well as a "gap-filler" between seasons. Really hope we get confirmation of a second season sooner than later. This whole series was a solid, enjoyable ride.

Very solid finale to this show and an even better ending leading to the beginning of W at the same spot the Anime started and where Philip recounted it in the W portion of the W X Decade Movie.
I don't even remember the Artillery A (either I just forgot or it was in the V-Cinemas I didn't see), but W X-Treme's fight with Reactor Dopat was fun (still slamming those overalls) and seeing W go full Meteor on him was great. I certainly enjoyed this show, it kept to the spirit of the original show (and it ends with them telling people to watch the original show, ha ha), the characters, while with different voices, they still kept the charm of their originals while also giving them a "post W" style to them. Whether or not we get a Season 2, I'm happy with what we got, and will definitely add this and the original W to my collection. Whether Tokime was meant to be the Joker Dopant or not, we'll have to wait and see (or I can read the Manga again if they updated it). And I only now notice Aurora's Aurora coattail. Somehow, I feel like Shoutaro feels more like Nobunaga but Terui angrily running around was funny. Are we going to ignore the fact that Terui was Hideyoshi in the Gaim X Wizard Movie?
