We keep hashing-out whether Power Rangers should resume production in Canada, or whether it would work on a free service like Tubi.
What about the ACTUAL look and feel and overall future of the franchise!? Whether it's books, or comics, or Doctor Who-style audio dramas, or an animated series, a web series, a live-action series, or a series of movies to rival DC and Marvel...what form should it take? I'm not saying that the location of the created work or the medium in which the work is released aren't important, but how should this continue? What's the most viable answer? It's painfully obvious that Hasbro doesn't know what to do with it, and the possibility that the franchise will be sold-off again is still on the table. The most depressing recourse is if Hasbro shares the mindset of the Nugget-Loving Game Company CEO from the animated comedy "Smiling Friends" and says in no uncertain terms: "It's my IP to sit on and do NOTHING with!" I also don't expect Hasbro or any future owner to pay attention to this level of discussion, but the fandom needs to band together and organize its thoughts first. |

I think the fandom will welcome a revival in any form. As for the variants: I think a blockbuster is not an option yet. And, as for me, PR is not yet ready for an independent show. Animation seems like an acceptable option, because it allows you to play on equal terms with the same Marvel and DC, but at the same time it is a new and poorly explored niche for the franchise. I think it all depends greatly on the owner. In Hasbro's case, I think it's worth trying low- and mid-budget films on streaming services.

Honestly, I think Power Rangers has found a good spot with the Boom Studios comics for now. Heck, if they're ever gonna reboot it as an animated show that's what they should base it off of. The whole Matt/Green Ranger MKII works for me as well.

A lot of people have said they would like to see an animated PR series. And while I do think that could work, the problem is with the brand in general. They would need a good studio to do the animation, since it's an action series, otherwise it would quickly lose steam due to completely underwhelming battles.
I honestly believe live action is best fitting for the franchise.

Agreed. I don't mind stuff like comics, video games and animation being used as side content, but PR at its heart is a Tokusatsu and if it has a serious future then I believe this should be the focus.

Go animated for a while then do live action again.
