While I liked some parts from this episode, I think I have grown tired of Build.I wish there was another season to that show.

So glad you got the "Dan VS" reference.
I need to rewatch that show. ____________________ So, um... Everyone in the forum.... What's everyone's thoughts on Build? We're this close to the end. Has it been a great ride? Or has it been a rushed mess of a show? I made a bit of a post (post 395) in the "Controversial Rider Opinions" section a few months back, around episode 37. Basically detailing my distaste for the show in regards to the writing, pacing, rushed form spacing (new form jobs after 2 episodes; old weak form does well against final forms), weird power scaling, and overall the show as a whole feels.... really bad. To me, at least. I felt like it kinda started going downhill since the war started in episode 15, and went further downhill around the mid 20s (looking at you, predictable rep battle arc), and then just kinda jumped into pit of death around Evolto's debut in episode ~33. Side tangent here, the ratings for Build, actually, have been steady 3s and 2s after episode 18, and even more so after episode ~27. I know most Rider shows don't do well- usually averaging 4's and 3's, and the occasional 2. But.... Ghost's average rating (a 5.0%) and Ex-Aid's average rating (a 3.9%)... they're better than Build (a 3.2% so far). So Build started losing viewers pretty early on around the start of the war (the highest-rated episode, pilot aside, was episode 3 with a 4.6%). And since I made that post, my opinions on Build haven't changed much. I just simply don't enjoy the show. Never have. ... And, as far as I know, everyone has been endlessly praising this show (much like Gaim, Digimon Tamers, OG Pokemon or XYZ, or PMD Explorers Of Sky... and how those seasons have essentially cult followings/hive minds). Again, like most gritty Rider shows, it's usually "the best thing ever that nothing will beat" until either its ending flops or something even grittier comes along. But lately, that praise has turned to indifference, or disinterest. One might even say hate. And I'm wondering why? Everyone loved this show. A discord server I'm in actually doesn't like talking about Build (probably because I've railed on it a total of nine times). Heck, some people still love this show (even though I personally think it's about average to less-than-average)! What made everyone turn on it all of a sudden? How many great tv shows have been cancelled throughout the years fot bad ratings? Too many. |

Your obviously entitled to your own opinion, but the vibe Im getting from your post here is that you dont understand why people like a show you seem to hate with a, might I say, strange passion. Could it simply be that those of us that do like it just have different tastes than you? I know this might sound strange, but just because you don't like something, doesnt mean everyone has to share that opinion. Everyone has different tastes and likes, its that simple. To each his own.
Also, ratings do not reflect quality. How many great tv shows have been cancelled throughout the years fot bad ratings? Too many. And, I guess you could call it a strange hate/passion. Though I genuinely did enjoy the first ~14 episodes. In recent months, I, however, have simmered down to a "I don't like this show, but I wonder why other people enjoy it" sort of mentality. Hence, my question: What does everyone think of Build? I know people have different tastes. Though I don't think that's a reason to, in a way, attack me for posing a question. I don't like Build. But others do. What are this show's good/bad points in the eyes of others? And I know that ratings don't reflect quality. I stated that in my post. Television shows have been on a rating decline in recent years, especially in Rider/Sentai's case. I'm just noting that "Hey, Build's ratings are worse than these other shows." I didn't think that it would contribute, but it's something to throw out there. |

Can I make a suggestion to you? If you dont like a show, dont keep watching it. Why watch a show you actively dislike?
And to answer your question as to why I like build, I actually couldnt put it down to a single reason. I like the characters, I like the suits and powerups, I like the setting, I like the pacing, and I like the plot. Something about all of those combined just made this series click for me. I know it sounds vague, but thats really why I like Build. |

And I just noticed how some people were feeling a bit of a rushed ending coming and talking about the slow lost bottle arc. And that's a vague, but reasonable answer. I guess. |

I enjoy it because I have no expectations. I watch it simply to be entertained. So long as the characters, suits, choreography, and over all story are good and flow, I'm happy. Lol!! And even then, I don't go into a series expecting them to stay good. I go in not wanting anything except to enjoy it. I broke my rule once, thag was for Ghost, and I got bit in the ass. XD

Eh I go in with no expectations or anything with any series I watch, I can get enjoyment out of a lot of stuff, even Kyuranger and Nininger. But yeah the strongest reason that I am just as active in seeing the episodes asap is probably "Hey I gotta see how this all goes." These shows are fun to watch is still reason 1 to me , and hell yeah every week watching Build is still fun. Except this last weekend, thanks Baseball.
So yeah it's not for everyone, but heck, there is nothing that's really for everyone. |
