I know Geats is the new hotness right now but goddamn this was amazing. So many great visual flairs and the story is moving in a really great direction. And the use of the insert song though.

What an episode, I guess Inoue thought that since the summer break is over, he could just drop an episode as packed full of information as this, it's a truly insane episode, and really, very good. The episode revolves around Sonoi and Tarou going to have their final duel, the episode seemed to me as if it was going to end with Sonoi delaying the final duel after spending time delivering packages with Tarou, but I couldn't have predicted what actually happened.
They actually do start their duel, but are then interrupted by the Juuto, Murasame, and the Hitotsuki, and this is actually the first time that the Donbrothers (outside of Inuzuka) have seen the Juuto, we then get some really good choreography, and between this and Geats, my quota of good fight scenes this week, has been fulfilled. After all the interruptions leave, the Hitotsuki is taken down by Toradora and Onitaijin, but they don't combine, which was kind of disappointing, but at least they're doing it next episode. And you'd think that's the end of it, but then we see Tarou and Sonoi walking towards each other and engaging in a short duel, which Tarou wins after slashing Sonoi, and then Sonoi, kind of looks like he dies, I can't say for sure, but when someone falls onto the ground and doesn't move, that's what I assume. But then, Murasame appears and takes Sonoi's body and then the episode ends?! What just happened?! Donbrothers has never had a particularly bad episode, but this episode is so crazy, and I feel like I'm just repeating myself when I say that this episode was insanely good, I can barely describe my feelings, I'm just glad that I'm watching this amazing show and this episode is really quite good. |

Sorry if this has been brought up before, it probably has, but the Japanese word for ?Moon? is very similar to the word for ?love.?
So what do they keep showing with Sonoi and Don Momo? What do they sing about in their duet? If any of you guys played Great Ace Attorney you might recognize the following name (or if you uh, just know Japanese literature too): Soseki Natsume is involved in a pretty good historical anecdote about talking about the moon instead of saying ?I love you.? https://tospeakjustice.wordpress.com...tiful-isnt-it/ Now that I have rambled on about this borderline fan fiction nonsense, I?d just like to say this episode was awesome! Best episode yet. Donbros is top tier super sentai. Also it warms my cold dead heart to see random one-off characters just showing up again. Like that weird woman who, uh, freaked out when her hand got kissed by Master and by Sonoi. And what an elegant solution to the monster of the week, just reuse a guy from a previous episode. Don?t have to take time from the main plotline to develop him, everyone can remember what he did or just play along and watch the original ep some other time. If they are bringing back characters from prior episodes, I?d love to see the replacement onisister again. |

A pretty good episode. Things have finally started picking back up.
Seems Jirou was right. Sonoi isn't strong enough to beat Tarou. His interrupting their duel made sense, since he tends to get kept out of the loop. I'm glad that the other members are finally aware of the Juuto, too. It's finally starting to feel like Inuzuka's plot is actually merging with the main cast's, rather than just Kijino. And it seems they really are as invincible as they said, with most attacks literally just phasing right through them. Curious to see how they solve this problem. The final duel between Tarou and Sonoi was what I was expecting. Not a prolonged, intense fight, but a quick one. One successful strike, and one victor. Wonder if he's actually dead, though, what with Murasame grabbing the body.

I've been cut down, because this episode was actually too funny, too sweet, too intruging, and too cool...
This was like Kaito and Stacey's first big brawl except like, Don Thousand percent better. |

Inoue had a tough act to follow this week, coming after Geats' exciting premiere, especially considering how atypically unexciting last week's lame recap was.
But damn, this episode has everything! An honorable fight to the death is like the peak of romanticism and both parties are equally serious about this event (take notes, Kinoshita!), albeit with some lament over the tragic circumstances of their rivalry. In the 3 day interval before the fight, Sonoi trains with an unmorphed handicap against his fellow Noto, to get used to Don Momotarou's speed, while Tarou opts not to train due to his pride in his job and sportingly, he's prepared to accept the possibility of his loss if Sonoi seriously proves to be the superior fighter. Despite the heaviness that comes with an honorable fight to the death, there are still a lot of comedic moments that made me smile. Like the exaggerated way the number of tumbleweeds increases the longer Sonoi waits for Tarou to show up. Or like, how their first attempt at a duel gets sequentially interrupted by virtually every character in the show in the most comically contrived way, you got Jirou, Murasame in his first appearance since Episode 21, Sayama and the Jyuto, the former Shurikenki becoming Mahouki (similar to Sakuma going from Another Faiz to Fourze, also a reference to Aoninjer, another magic-user ninja) to continue his vendetta on Tarou, prompting the other Donbrothers and Noto to intervene. That whole scene was crazy and awesome! Other than that, we get a little exposition from Sonoi about the origin of the Jyuto, artificial lifeforms created by the Don Clan as livestock that got out of control. It's pretty appropriate that we learn this now, as Tarou and Sonoi treat their wounds, since that incident is probably the reason why the Noto and Don Clan became enemies, their conflict sadly inherited by Tarou and Sonoi who otherwise wouldn't need to fight. Instead of postponing their duel until their injuries were healed, they were still determined to honor their commitment. Ultimately, Tarou kills Sonoi in "one good strike", a parallel to the ending of Episode 13. Except this time Sonoi got what he wanted, even though he didn't win, he got a fair and true fight without deception. It's a tragic victory for Tarou though, who feels no gratification in killing someone he cared about, but it's a victory he accepted nonetheless, as a way of giving Sonoi the honor he deserved. However, with Murasame taking his corpse, there's a chance he might come back. The direction and choreography of this ending scene was especially stylish as well, happening silently and nonchalantly to the backdrop of their cool shared insert theme, What The Moon Knows. Overall, I'd consider this episode to be peak Donbrothers, providing a fitting conclusion to Tarou's and Sonoi's rivalry that still leaves open the possibility for Sonoi to come back somehow, if the plot's going where I think it's going. Geats had quite a debut, but DonBrothers still delivered an amazing episode!
I was sick earlier this week, so I only just now got to this episode. But boy, did it not impress! We got some amazing Sonoi moments here, and some returning faces from the Karen and Ninja Weeb, who now uses magic (is he Ninjago now?). But the main highlight was the battle where everyone interrupted their duel and the lore drop from Sonoi. So, the Don Clan made the Jyuuto in order to keep the Nooto in check since they feed on Humans, or more specifically, their desires which manifest into the monsters, but didn't turn out like they hoped, so now we're in this mess. (I probably got details completely wrong in my recovery state...) And then there's the big duel, which just needed that swingin' music and a short draw of blades Samurai Style to work. However, Don Murasame takes Sonoi's corpse before leaving. Now what could that mean? Next Week: The Gattai of both Mechs, and they ride a sweet CG Horse!
