"The White Dragon" hits $250k, adds a $300k stretch goal

Couldn't find a topic for this, so I guess I'll just make one.

For those unaware, Bat in the Sun revived their Kickstarter for "Legend of the White Dragon" featuring a handful of PR alumni, this time was a smaller scale in mind.

They recently hit their stretch goal of $250k, which means the project will likely end up as an extended series. Their new goal at $300k is to create a prequel comic to cover the parts of the story that the extended series won't be able to cover.

At the time of this post there's 10 days left before the campaign ends, so if it at all looks interesting to you, feel free to help out. I went ahead and pledged $50 myself. it looked like trash the first time, and it looks like trash now, BiTS needs to just go away.

Trash or not, today it hit its $300k goal, so the prequel comic is happening. And with only a week left to go, its safe to say this is where funding's gonna end. Personally looking forward to the extended series.

I don't even know how this broke its goal tbh. The first time they did the Kickstarter, it failed spectacularly. And now that was a long while ago, I just don't get how they so easily broke their 100k goal by over 200k. I think it's the same exact thing they did for the first time, all they did was try again.

Edit: I looked at the two different Kickstarters, and I see the problem that occurred. It's the same Kickstarter, but they lowered the goal from 500k to 100k so they would be able to obtain whatever funding they could from the campaign.

If a ton of comments on the old campaign are any indication, it was awareness. A lot of people weren't even aware the old Kickstarter was a thing until it was too late. This time there was a much bigger push in advertising by JDF and some other Ranger alumni.

And at the very last second, the Kickstarter reached its intended goal of $500k, meaning that it will now be a full length feature film. Looking forward to it!

The movie is set to come to theaters this Fall.
