I enjoyed it, it feels like a Ultraman film made for a US audience.

I just watched the Gabadon episode this weekend. What I liked about the show was that it balanced some of the silly, kiddie aspects with some more serious stuff. The end of the episode, with the Captain feeling a sense of dread about all of the kids drawing with chalk on the playground, but balancing that with the thought that creating from their imagination is the gift of children, was very thought provoking for me. I dug it.

some guy nearly dies, bonds with ultra man...monsters for no real reason attack, guy turns out to be in elite army group that while looks cool really can't do a thing against monsters, but then guy finds out he can become a giant dude with some kind of fin for a head. He then punches and kicks the monster for about 45 seconds, then fires a beam from his arm. Monster blows up, and hijinks happen with the army crew....
some real original stuff that will blow people out of the water I hear... |

Is Ultraman Nexus worth the watch? Keep in mind my only Ultraman experience was the FoxKids show years back, and Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad.

I think it's worth watching. It's a modern series and I have heard good things about it. Have not had a chance to watch it myself (I am way behind presently...).

Also, turns out that my seller of the Ultra-Act Ultraman was a flake, so I had to raise a case with eBay and get my money refunded. So still looking for that toy. Anyone willing to part with one?

Nexus is great, but it's really not representative of what you should come to expect out of Ultraman. For some people that's a good thing, for others a bad thing. Nexus was the first Ultra show I really watched, and I still appreciate it for the path it lead me down despite it no longer being the apple of my eye the way Gaia or especially Max is.
