So we basically went from monkeys on typewriters to other monkeys on typewriters then?

Plus, no has mentioned the Dino Thunder thing where Ethan was doing that one thing to the morphing grid and he stumbled upon the SPD powers. It was on a DVD or something.
EDIT: It was on the Dino Thunder Volumes 4 and 5 DVD's, and was called "Before it Began". http://rangercentral.com/episodes/20...#axzz2wpWKPeOn |

My opening thought is why is Jake carrying a soccer ball with him to the Zoo? Do they think, in the week since the last episode, we'll forget he plays soccer? And it's understandable that they didn't know it was Casey at first. He had his head down the entire time, and all Gosei has in the base is keys. Not faces to go with the keys. It's not like he waved to the crowd and said "HI! I'm Casey! I was once the Jungle Fury Red Ranger! HI MEGAFORCERS!"
It's also understandable they didn't know the logo at first either. Yes, it's on the keys. But it's still understandable. And understandable when they met him face to face in the park. When the first fight scene comes there was absolutely no reason for them to be in the Goseger suits. None. They didn't fight, they didn't morph, they just showed up as Goseiger. They could've done this whole season without them to be honest. And then when they start fighting.. Oh My God Shut The Hell Up. Every move you make does not need narrated like I'm watching a Citizen Kane in brightly colored spandex. And watching Jake's VO try and match Doc is painful. Physically painful. I am sitting here in pain watching it happen. Pain. There's just to much needless talking during the fighting. To many attempts at witty one-liners that aren't witty, funny, or entertaining. And when they finish the battle and are back in the park, why exactly did Troy go all You Can't Let Go of your Weapon? That's completely out of character for him. Especially since he, Gia, and somehow Noah (Which I can't explain for the life of me), beat him back without their weapons. Ignoring the fact Casey went all Mister Myagi on them, who leaves the cage to a Tiger enclosure unlocked and unsupervised? Who runs that Zoo?! And for that matter how exactly did Noah spend the night inside a school, during an invasion, and not one teacher peek inside before leaving and say "Hey, go Home." And his parents never once thought to call the school? They disappear, ALL THE TIME, and not one person questions anything! And during the second battle scene, once again, here they come out as Goseiger for no other reason than (I'm guessing) someone didn't want to pay them for actual on-screen time and just went with more generic VO work. There's no reason for it and it just wastes time. This entire season would've worked so much better if they would've completely lost their MF powers at the start and were only able to use SMF. And while I'm on the subject. Troy makes this big deal, twice, about not losing their weapons. He tries stealing them again, they steal them back, and then they still fight him hand to hand! Casey knowing they were rangers is the only thing I've seen so far that kind of makes sense. And with Jayden last week, I think every past ranger is just watching the invasion. But where in Gokaiger where they explained them not having their power because they're in the keys, in Super Megaforce there is no explanation. There's never a damn explanation. And then, after all of that, instead of knowing their friends were in trouble and showing up in Legendary, they show up in Goseiger. Again. And remember, back towards the begining, when I said Jake playing Doc is painful to me physically? So is Troy ending every damned battle with "That's a Super Megaaa Win!" Yes, this post was mostly negative and typed as I watched. But this season.. This isn't a tribute to the fans of the past 20 years. It's a money grab. And I don't know why we expected different. |

I think the parents not giving a crap about where their kids are has been in Power Rangers for quite a while. Did TJ, Carlos, Ashley, and Cassie's parent's know that they were in space instead of going to school? |

I liked it. I never watched Jungle Fury, but I knew the way they kept going back to the guy at the zoo, he'd turn our to be a ranger from some point

The episode was very much better then anything Super Megaforce has given us til now. I'm impressed in some ways.
Not to say the episode didn't have its faults. Troy still delivers every single line in the most painfully and obnoxiously awful way possible, the Gia worship was out of place and is quickly turning her into an annoying Mary Sue and they still need to chill out with the dialogue during fights but it was actually an OK episode. It was also a bit annoying that whenever they lost their weapons wanting the weapons back became the only thing they could bring themselves to talk about (and being SMF, they talked about it a lot), even when Red/Blue/Yellow were competently fighting hand-to-hand. Still though, Gia you do not prefer blasters over swords and it was bizarre how they seemed to consider "Phoenix" to be a real-life animal, but whatever. Also, how many children have died from walking into that tiger enclosure and who thinks that a tiger that's eaten won't attack anyway? |
