This guy is really nice, but considering all the horror stories I've heard about, and with this one only reinforcing it, I'm looking forwards to seeing the renewal more. Still a cool gallery though

QC issues aside the paint detailing is superb. Plus it's shiny and in the end it's meant to be a high end collectible, not a toy.

I'm glad I saw the Sentai Space Sheriff crossovers so I could have some context for this. (And yeah, the missing laser-blade part is odd.) It's a surprisingly good-looking figure given it's not well-reviewed. I guess handling it lowers one's opinion fast.
I can tell you're going to be delighted to review the renewal Gavan next year. As always: cool gallery! |

Aside from the QC, my main point of contention is the chrome. I really do not care for it, and I'm disappointed (if only in principle) to see the Renewal is also going that route. Even if it doesn't flake, I simply prefer the silver used on figures like Juspion and Fire. I guess making two versions would be too costly, but I can't help but wish it was applicable.
More minor issues I have are with the accessories. Not just the lack of a power up and a solid blue blade as mentioned in the review, but what is included looks a little too cartoonish to me. Better fitting for a Manga character like Ultraman 7.2 than a live action Toku. |

Gavan's design is great, and the figure looks amazing.

My Gosei that's some shiney plastic xD Still though, for being completely silver and shiney and metallic, the toy looks amazing. Usually with an all metallic design like that it ends up looking flakey and cheap. But this.. He's pretty.

This design grew on me very quickly. I love how swift it can look while still being quite robotic.
