Apologies if I came off as harsh. In retrospect I do understand if Bandai had no other choice at the time considering how sales were diminishing by the year and Kyoryuger just happened to be their latest show that did gangbusters, and I'm sure any other business would've done the same in a situation like that. At the end of the day, it's business, and I like to believe that they did it in hopes of trying to keep the series afloat.

No problem, I can't even deny that it was a pretty unoriginal move by Bandai. However, after watching the show, I think Ryusoulger should be an important reminder to the community not to judge a book by its cover. We should try and judge a show based on its own merits and appreciate the effort put in to the story and characters to make it feel unique. Perhaps more people would've warmly welcomed Ryusoulger if only it had aired a few years later than it did, once the aftertaste of Kyoryuger had passed.

Finished Kiramager!
I really enjoyed that series. It was pretty "generic" as far as Sentai goes, but it does generic well. My only disappointment was that I was hoping that they would do something more interesting with the granterstones other than give us a final battle with tons of power creep. Still, it was a fun ride and it feels weird that I finally finished. Not sure what to watch next. I'm 12 episodes into Kamen Rider Geats and maybe around 15 into Gekiranger, so I feel like I should watch those...but I'm feeling hype for KingOhger and Dekaranger right now. Also, Power Morphicon has two guests from Gokaiger, so I'm motivated to watch that as well. Any suggestions?

Yes. Considering it was Reiwa's first, I think it was a wise decision to go with something generic, and the show delivered.

Kiramager is a solidly done, "normal" Sentai series which I think is more and more appreciable when right after the series decided to swing hard into experimental stuff. Neither approach is wrong, but I'm glad their last "traditional" outing for a while was so well-crafted.

I think 47 episodes would've been a fair compromise though. Like, Tame's rivalry with Shadon probably could've benefited from being a 2-parter.

Regardless, it's fairly standard Sentai tropes presented in a strong package with one of my top 5 mech designs in the series.

Just to be clear, I'm not criticizing it. I guess I could have chosen a better word than "generic." I think maybe "traditional" would have been better?

![]() Yeah, that still has me scratching my head after having seen it. It's cool and all that we got Mochizuki and Tomita and Nishi to reprise their roles, but it's like the writers were requested to write in more dino-releated stuff after the top brass over at Toei and Bandai read the first draft regardless of how well-written it was.
