My thoughts exactly. I'd accuse Rider of ripping off the concept, but considering how amazing Superior 8 Ultra Brothers was, copying it might not be a bad thing.

I have a way better feeling about this movie then the usual big crossover films. I think even just from the trailers for stuff like Chou Super Hero Taisen you could tell they didn't have anything to offer besides "here's some suits you recognize", but here they actually tried to sell a story. I mean, that narration is not joking around.

It remains to be seen how well they execute that story (there's a huge risk of this type of plot coming off as overly self-indulgent), but I'm pretty sure they're at least trying this time. The previous Heisei Generations films were both excellent (although I didn't enjoy Final nearly as much as the first), so there's reason to be optimistic. Between those movies, the Rider 1 film, and Zi-O making a point to grab as many guest stars as possible, I think it's pretty clear Toei has stepped up their game lately when it comes to handling legacy stuff like this.

The big issue with something like CSHT is that they make a main story that's somehow not related to a big hero crossover, in spite of the story being specifically created for a big crossover movie. CSHT's plot was essentially about a sick kid who wanted to escape from the real world, and due to his powers destroy it, and the heroes trying to convince him to give another chance to real life. That's all basically Ex-Aid related though. The Ex-Aid solo movie essentially used the same premise too even.

However, because they know what people want is actually the heroes, they then throw a bunch of stuff that has barely anything to do with the premise just to feature heroes in the movie, like the tournament or the game Shocker army. However, because they aren't tied to the main story, they all become basically just meaningless fighting scenes (which weren't even good in this case due to the director) since they have nothing to do with the movie's core story and seem to exist just to be marketing material in many cases (the short cameos that are pretty much entirely shown in the trailers). It ends up not pleasing anyone, since it does no favor to the past heroes due to treating them as interchangeable fighters or the movie itself due to being barely relevant to the main plot.

We got about a month before the movie hits, and we still don't know if other Legend Riders sans the Taros are returning. Although I need to check back when did Heisei Generations Final revealed the cast.

And also, we don't really know if Grease and Rogue will return too. Yes, Kouhei Takeda posted that he's returning, but that could very well be for Cross-Z's movie.

I hope at the very least, the Riders who already made an appearance in Zi-O would voice their characters in this one. Or the very, very least, pull a Gaim in Dr.Pac-Man.

A good possibility is that we won't know until the movie actually hits. I can see Toei doing their best to not spoil who's returning for this this time around considering W, Den-O and Kuuga especially are the 3 shows where getting returning actors will be most difficult.

Well, at least maybe Decade & Ghost might have voice roles seeing as how close their episodes are to the movie.
EDIT: Also to answer your question, Final revealed their cast on the first trailer, which was 2 months before release. Though Dr Pac-Man I believe was a few weeks.

Usually it's that way. Remember when Red Racer does a voice cameo in 199 Heroes because the Carranger tribute was near the movie premiere? And yeah, the reason we're all hyped for Final is because they revealed the cast on the first trailer, and marketed the hell outta it.

Also,

, Rogue is confirmed, at least in suit. Damn, Great Cross-Z is so pointless they should've just made it a movie exclusive form.
