My thing about the Swede thing being unlikely is like....it just seems like a really weird thing to pull from? Even if they're only pulling the bare minimum from it (a Viking theme, maybe some names are taken from other clans) are kids really into that kind of thing? I'd feel like they'd be represented in some kind of way in some other piece of childrens' media at least once prior, like a lot of reoccurring themes in Sentai/Rider are. If they are to go deeper and are explicitly pulling from Beowulf...wouldn't some kind of familiarity with the tale (like with Donbrothers) be preferred? I doubt a lot of children know of it. That's just my two cents, of course.
Anyway, as a Scandinavian, I personally would ADORE a Rider based on Nordic myths and stories. Again, it could simply be an in-name-only thing, sort of like Sigurd from Gaim or Odin from Ryuki. I'll even take the stereotypical horned helmets. |

Judging by the katakana, it turns out it's pronounced 'Gitsu' in Japanese

A viking theme could be just as cool as Saber's knight theme. Think about it, a mighty Kamen Rider who fights for glory and honor. Skal!

According to twitter user @TheGespenst:

Just checked and the Japanese term for Geats as in the viking tribe is ギート (giito), not ギーツ (giitsu), meaning that viking Kamen Rider theory is pretty much debunked.
It could still be a pun of some sort on the Viking Geats maybe... (or just Toei messing up spelling which would not be a huge shock...) But the Kata spelling not lining up and the lack of seeing anyone from Japan making the Viking connection definitely decreases the odds that it's vikings by a LOT in my mind anyways lol Last edited by TheJaz; 05-30-2022 at 03:01 PM.. |

I really want Geats's main theme in suit design is Viking, just like Gridon and Sigurd.

I'm going to wager that the viking theme is more to do with runes and glyphs rather than say ships and seafaring. A trickster Kamen Rider based on Loki seems inevitable.
