Man this sounded like a dumpster fire.
EDIT: For some reason I can't upload the image, but what it is was was an X chat about the BTS and production problems of Cosmic Fury. Like for example, the reason Master Zedd didn't have a fight scene was because of how fragile the suit was. Last edited by IndigoArms; 10-14-2023 at 06:05 PM.. |

I'm starting to miss the Saban Brands era, at least there was a steady income of Sentai DVD releases. |

Episode 9:
I've noticed that the Cosmic Fury powers are kind of limited compared to Dino Fury. Like, if they had the Cosmic Dino Key, they could've simply portaled their way out of Zedd's exploding base and Zayto wouldn't have needed to sacrifice himself. I must also agree with Fern that the Zentinels using their Cosmic Blaster was a letdown. You'd think it would have some kind of Grid authentication system or something, right? It's almost humorous how many times their super weapon actually hinders them more than it helps them in these last 2 episodes. However, these powers were hastily thrown together by Billy and Solon in a single day, so that might explain their lack of functionality. I called it! Ollie was totally pretending to still be evil after the triceratops statue's destruction, allowing him to keep Slyther alive and warn the others about Zedd's (Morphin') Master Plan. Ollie and Slyther have a nice interaction as well, with Olllie worrying about whether his team will forgive him and Slyther, who did a lot more evil deeds than him, reassuring him that he can still redeem himself. Sure enough, Amelia is immediately concerned for him. I mentioned before that their ship lacked setup, so I appreciate how their separation brings Amelia's feelings for him to the foreground. I was actually invested in seeing them back together! Anyway, Zenith's out of the picture, so I guess Cosmic Fury Blue is basically the Sixth Ranger by default now, even though he doesn't meet much of the criteria for one. He doesn't get to do much actually, since he has the misfortune of debuting against Master Zedd and spends most of his screentime rolling for cover. Doesn't even get to pilot a Cosmic Fury Zord before Zedd destroys them. But hey, at least he's more helpful than the Cosmic Blaster. Episode 10: The resolution to Master Zedd feels like a Ryusoulger reference. Just like how Koh persuaded Heras to believe in the goodness of Ryusoul Tribe and Druidon, here we have Zayto, uh.... Master Beige and the Cosmic Fury Rangers persuading Zedd to give up his power since he can't be emperor anymore if his power kills him. In a franchise full of violence, it's an intriguing twist to have the final boss defeated by words. Oh yeah, Master Beige, so that's a thing now. Zayto's mortal life is over for good, but his godlike new form surprises even his fellow Masters. I guess it must have been the will of the Grid itself, further explaining why it chose Amelia to replace him as Red. They never explained the significance of the Zenith Ranger name though, given to him by the Masters. It means "the top", which sounds appropriate for someone who would rule over the Grid and yet the Masters had no idea about this development at all. Sadly, this also makes the ending bittersweet, since Zayto has to bid farewell to all his friends and start his new life in the Grid. Are Warden Buzzkill and his wife implied to know about the Rangers' secret identities now? Javi and Izzy mentioned they would explain to them later about the backstory for the prosthetic arm and we don't get to hear that explanation. So, I presume they came out with the truth? I mean, Ollie's mother knows, Amelia's Pop-Pop knows, it only seems fair for the Garcias to find out as well. Aiyon met an avatar of Zordon in the Grid! It has to be him, right? He said his catchphrase and everything. At the end of Once and Always, Billy decided to continue his quest to bring back Zordon, so this is a hopeful revelation for him. From what I heard, this is the last we'll be seeing of this continuity for the foreseeable future, so it leaves Billy's quest open-ended. It also leaves Lord Zedd's fate open-ended, with Zayto saying even he might be redeemed someday. The Zordon Wave did turn him good before, so I suppose it's not totally impossible that he could change on his own. But this is the Emperor of Evil himself we're talking about here, so who knows what his future may hold? Overall, I thought Cosmic Fury was an awesome conclusion to this trilogy of characters! It was a very ambitious project, which I think could've benefited more from a 20 episode run due to a little filler and fanservice taking up the limited time, but otherwise I mostly got out of it what I wanted to see. The season was consistently driven by its strongly developed characters and their personal stakes in the fast-paced story. Every episode left me in suspense to see what was going to happen next and it was nice to see so many returning characters and elements from previous shows! If you enjoyed Dino Fury as much as I did, then I would totally recommend Cosmic Fury! Honestly, other than the upcoming movie, I have no idea what's next for the franchise. If it's really a fresh start, then maybe a Zenkaiger adaption could work. Their powers could pay tribute to the teams that came before, while still telling a new story in a new continuity. Like how New Powers worked for Super Mega Force. EDIT: 1900th post!

Well if Hasbro wants to do this from the ground up hopefully it won't be like MMPR 2017.
Hasbro and Netflix want to pull a Mystic Knights Of Tir Na Nog and make it 100 without Toei. Should this happen in 2025 , and we hold at a 10 chapter per year drop - that might put us long time watchers and fans off Power Rangers. Nobody knows how a 100 % from the ground up will do. The US morphed outfits were possibly testing the waters. Also their own ground fights.
